I learned with hard work, I can get up before 10:00 am.

I also didn't realize that Costco now has people that help you check out. Literally, three people. Cashier, someone to put the goods on the roller, and another to put them back in the cart. I felt like a prick.  :;-(:

White noise generators actually generate pink noise.

I think red noise (or brownian noise) is nicer, though.

This one does all three. Or claims to. I don't know.

I also found this. Free and works with OSX.

yes, it's wonderful

except when you see a post from someone reminding you how wonderful it is and you click on it again and your speakers kill you because they're missing the volume knob

Two lanes open and three customers. I still felt like a pampered prick.

You know those big black vans that follow the president around? I learned that they're not filled with men.

It's filled with Heavy Weapon Guy.

Something like 100 bullets a second, I think. The company's standard gatling gun can do 3,000 a minute.

M134 Minigun, made by GE.  4,000 rounds per minute.

:mahboi: The term "minigun" refers specifically to this particular weapon.  Multi-barreled automatic weapons are more correctly referred to as "gatling guns!"

That seems faster than one bullet per frame.

Besides learning that I read too fast and skip over words because I'm a dumb, I learned today that the ghost chili is the hottest chili in the world.  It's over 1,000,000 scoville units.  And I'm watching a show on travel channel called Man Vs. Food where there was a restaurant that makes pasta and meat dishes full of ghost chili.  People really enjoy burning the fuck out of their mouths.

Yeah, I don't know why we do, either. It always burns going in and often going out.

Taiwanese hot sauce found in every single Asian restaurant out there. Goes great in marinara sauce. Also very very hot.

Jesus, Buge.

EDIT: nevermind, I thought Buge wrote "down an entire bottle".

The inflammation caused by spicy food releases endorphins, which leave a pleasant "high" feeling once they've finished their job of painkilling when there was very little real pain to kill.  This is also the idea behind the "runner's high" that so many fitness enthusiasts claim to enjoy.

It is also why I always laugh in proportion to how much I've been injured.  Or maybe that's just insanity.  Anyway, I like spicy food!

I laugh and cry at the same time when I get hurt often.  It's always confusing for people who notice that I hurt myself.  I like spicy food too, but just...not that spicy.

I laugh hysterically whenever faced with a fight or flight situation, not for unexplainable reasons so much, since at the time I understand that I find the situation insanely humorous, not why, though.

If I ever go to prison I bet I could scare off a few rapists.

Ah, the jackal cackle. The laughing complex initiated during stressful situations, thereby defusing stress hormones such as adrenaline. A fantastic trait, and one I've experienced during firefights. Those whizzing sounds are hysterical.
