My gramdmother got angry at Christmas and yelled at my mom in front of my cousins, aunt and uncle, and whatnot.

And she was angry because she blames me being gay on her not hugging me ever.

Yeaaah.

Lottel was too busy making out with all the female caterers to correct the mistake.

I am not gay but both sides of my family spontaneously decided I was.

Well I can think of one way to remedy to that.

Look, Zed. Murdering his entire family isn't going to help anyone, and I think it's about time you stopped encouraging everyone into that course of action.

During the early 20th century, Japan was were exposed to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion while trading with Russia. Since they didn't they didn't have domestic Jews to be prejudiced against, the Japanese read it more as a testament to the craftiness and power of the Jewish people.

Later during the pre-WWII Japanese occupation of some parts of China, they went so far as to import some unwanted Russian Jews as the magic ingredient to develop the area. This was called Project Fugu, since Fugu is both a delicacy but is deadly if mishandled.

Possibly, the single best feature of NoScript, for me, has been killing off all of the comment delivery systems associated with any kind of media I consume. Without it, I might be compelled to read some of that dross.

Yeah.  And the more convoluted and opaque the comments section, the harder to figure out just what the fuck site(s) exactly I need to temporarily enable, the likelier I am to just give up and stop.  Meaning I no longer read anything on the various CBS sites and am much happier for it.

That in Victorian England, there was a period where some early industrial machines were powered by dogs. And that there was even a specific breed of dog for turning a roasting spit.

I used to have a dog that was of a breed specifically bred to be a living moist towelette.

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

Herman Cain, you lied to me.

Black Walnut Ice Cream is not very good.

You trusted the former CEO of Godfather's Pizza to tell you what kind of food was good?

Well, A) there aren't any Godfather's Pizzas where I live, and B) I at least expected something decent.

Black Walnut Ice Cream was super-popular when I was a kid and it is the most disgusting cream-based substance I've ever had repeatedly inserted into my mouth.  It tastes like Dr. Pepper syrup gone bad with occasional chunks of your mother's clitoris.

Ironically, I actually loved Godfather's Pizza.  They put tacos... on a pizza!  When I was like 7 this was some kind of culinary witchcraft, and I partook deeply of it.

That the IEEE 829 specification for test plans (read: what I write for every project) actually does define the document as a Test Procedure Specification Report.

And yes, it does require a cover sheet.

Habeas Corpus exists in the form it does today because someone was making fun of a fat guy.

Quote
When the Habeas Corpus act of 1679 (which didn't create Habeas Corpus but did help strengthen and define it) was being voted on in the House of Lords, one of the members counting the votes (on the side in favour) counted a particularly fat lord as having ten votes, assuming it would be stricken. The act passed by a margin of fewer than ten votes and no one in opposition noticed at the time so it was allowed to stand.

This is incredible.
