Well, yeah. Armor is better than no armor against any kind of weapon, really.

We're just saying full (articulated) plate shouldn't give an 8 AC bonus against maces.

Look on the bright side, at least it wasn't of an actual bird dying.

Quote
Rene Goscinny died of a sudden heart attack while working on Astérix In Belgium. It took a great deal of soul-searching by Albert Uderzo over whether or not to complete it. Uderzo did, and then as a tribute to Goscinny continued their work alone.

That, I knew.

Quote
At a certain point in Asterix in Belgium it begins to rain and does not stop for the remainder of the story. The rain was added by Uderzo to mark the point in the work where Goscinny left off when he died.

This, I never realized (I remember the rain, I thought it was just a gag).

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

There's a fourth Mad Max film being made, but filming was delayed because abnormally high rains in Australia caused flowers to bloom.

This is a problem because Australian flowers can move over 20 mph on land and strip the flesh off a hippopotamus in 10 seconds.

There were several female conquistadors (conquistadoras), who fought alongside their male counterparts, including one particularly well-regarded cavalry lancer, as documented in the letters of Bartolomeo Diaz and other various Spanish sources.

Reading the word conquistadora put a very odd image of children's programming in my head, but I see College"Humor" beat me to it.

In the German version of Mario, Boos are called Buu Huus. This is pretty much the best thing I've heard all week.

IRL Teresa was a very nice lady to your face, but was a terrible gossip and catty bitch when discussing people not present. She inspired a monster that's shy face-to-face but vicious behind your back.

Okay, so I already knew House, M.D. was Sherlock Holmes if he were a doctor (House-Holmes, Wilson-Watson).

But apparently in the second season finale, the one where House is shot and then has a bleeding out-induced dream about a patient with an exploding eye and testicle, the gunman is named Jack Moriarty.

And is also played by Casey Jones. GOONGALA.
