Right, basically if you're more than, say, -4, you should probably get that shit fixed.
I just find it further interesting that the implication here is that myopia isn't really a disease so much as a natural adaptation to consequences which necessitate being able to see better close-up. So you see so many nerds with glasses and think "Okay well I guess most smart people have crappy eyesight" when in reality we all have
great eyesight and just need it adjusted when we're driving or something. People with 20/20 probably can't make out as many tiny details overall as nearsighted people can either, although I don't really have any evidence to back that up.
It all makes me wonder if I shouldn't even be wearing contacts, but in the end I really just don't like dealing with glasses all the time.
EDIT: Though all that being said, my eyesight has shifted from -2.5 to -1.75 in the last couple years, and I can't see my computer screen very well without lenses of some sort. So God knows what the fuck's actually going on with mine.
