A teacher friend of mine was apparently inspired to be a teacher to be like Ralph Hinkley from The Greatest American Hero.
He looks like him, acts like him, and got his job as a English teacher and why he helps as a special ed teacher.

It would also explain why he would show up in a The Greatest American Hero t-shirt occasionally. I suppose it sounds obvious when you spell it all out.

That's okay. Half my Alma Mater's campus buildings were designed in the 70's by a former designer of prisons, specifically to crush people's will's (with cheery things like industrial concrete construction inside and out and six-foot ceilings) and to make the buildings difficult to hold in case of student uprisings.

This is not in fact actually "Man this campus sucks" dumb-student hyperbole.

Huh. The Mackenzie-Chown Complex of my university was designed with similar concerns. The hallways go in a zig-zag pattern and I'm pretty sure there used to be convex mirrors in the corners too, just to add to the Panopticon effect.

And yeah, they used to be dull greys and browns with lots of exposed ductwork.

My dad's high school was used in Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

...which of course does not earn a facepalm.

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

(a) Gallagher is still alive, and
(b) Some people still think Gallagher is funny.

That Gallagher is a racist homophobic psychopath.

I wish I had a better response, but that was the face I made when reading that article.

Steve Ditko inked some of Eric Stanton's fetish comics.

Also? Eric Stanton actually had an Aunt May.nsfw

Wow, uh.

I think that's the first time it's really hit me just how much this country deserves to be hated.

I learned that I enjoy a vast selection of Ska music.

And even remotely musing on the fact gets you mocked heavily.
