It may be for the best that my Civ 4 strategy guide got past the first-draft stage before I got laid off and the company folded. I'm really awful.

A superconductor can be repositioned while hovering.

That's clearly a hover, but I can imagine lots of different ways it could fall down.

In fact

There must be fifty ways to leave a hover.

That just goes too well with your avatar. Which is the idea, I guess.

Yep.  And while it was never deployed in the classroom in the way he suggested, it was a tremendously important show for educating children and promoting racial understanding and harmony.

For that matter, The Cosby Show educated adults in a similar fashion.

(Tangentially related: the most powerful political statement Peanuts ever made was to casually add Franklin, put him in school with Patty and Marcy, and have him be just like everybody else, with nobody in the strip ever commenting on his race.)

NTFS -- at least, the version in Win7 -- lets you mount a hard drive as a subdirectory on another hard drive!

Boy, this is going to make it a LOT easier to move my TV shows over to my new hard drive.

So thanks, Microsoft, for...having a feature that Unix-likes have had for literally decades.

Now do you think you could maybe do something about your fucking shortcuts?

Those are awfully well-rooted. No wonder the Vic Viper has so much trouble destroying them.

I shouldn't be surprised. The sphinx was submerged to its throat in sand before it became a curiosity to Europeans.

But...
God damn. I am surprised.

How active are Easter Island's volcanoes, assuming it has any?

Not that moai being sturdy enough to survive multiple volcanic eruptions would be less impressive than this photo.

Apparently it has a single nonactive volcano, and they built the statues out of volcanic rock.
