Snopes doesn't have an entry for it, which is unfortunate, because this whole thing sounds like a hilarious joke.  Especially when you get to stuff like "the owners later added a skate park and a microbrewery"...

I'm disappointed that half of the fatalities are "drowned in the tide pool".  I mean, c'mon, I wanted at least a few amputations on the teacup ride.

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

In curious symmetry to the "tits and ass visible in the same angle" thing, Liefeld didn't realize we don't simultaneously see both of Arnold's pecs and the back of his neck.

"Goosnargh" is the name of a place!

Which fits in with the whole theme of The Meaning of Liff, actually, of taking place names and assigning them to things there are no English words for.

Not really. The head size and neck placement are still off. Also the way the arm disappears from existence behind the shield. And a lot of other things. It's sort of like Liefeld, I don't know, ineptly copied a photograph but didn't use his imagination or artistic license to correct for differences between his drawing and the photo.

But these are not the things that people have historically criticized about that image.

Today I learned that cuttlebone is so heat-resistant that it is used for casting metal jewelry.

Is "talking about casually" a euphemism for "establishing in towns they have offices in, as well as participating in national, inter-, and intrastate auctions for telecommunication rights"?

I didn't realize they had been doing anything serious about it until now. Every few months a see some small comment about it somewhere on the internet and then nothing for a while

The (Secret) City of London Part 1: History

So there's London, the city, and the City of London?

The City of London is a square-mile section inside London proper. It's basically London's Wall Street - it's full of skyscrapers and financial institutions. To complete the plutopunk scenario, the governing body is called City of London Corporation.

The City of London is inside London or Greater London, which includes Central London (pretty much every landmark), Inner London (the area where you could conceivably bicycle to Westminster and back) and Outer London.

So when a job recruiter posts a job in "East London", it might be a rich-ass Islington place two farts from the Big Ben, a hipster startup at Shoreditch, or a factory floor job three hours away from civilization.

"City of x Corporation" is not all that rare.  Once upon a time the word "corporation" meant what it actually means and wasn't immediately associated with a commercial conglomerate.

Ear pointing is a thing.

I guess the most surprising aspect of this is that it surprised me at all, really.
