I haven't really read any of de Beauvoir's work, so I couldn't say. I've seen some summaries and it seemed like there was some good and bad in there, but it really takes a lot to make me read philosophical tracts.

Unless you referred to her specifically because she's the other 'big name of the existentialist movement'. Because I actually accept Camus' "Hey don't try to pin your damn labels on my thoughts" statements, where he denies being one.

You know, as much as I found L'Étranger to be pedantic and disagreeable, I have to say that La Peste is one of my favorite books ever. The former feels like a hollow theoretical case study made to arrive at a point that I understand but entirely disagree with; the latter details a train of thought that reaches ideas similar to my own, but coming from a vastly different angle.

Either way I would have liked to meet the man. Oh well.

Crystal Head Vodka is available in B.C.! :perfect:

But it's 2 hours away, and costs $70.  :painful:

Today, I learned that Franken Fran existed.
Now I am a fan!  :perfect:
The mixture of humour and gore is just spot on for me.

Unfortunately I've read all of the current strips, so now I've gotta wait.
I haven't been this anxious since I finished watching the first series of Akikan!

That reminds me:
I WANT AKIKAN!!
If I don't get it soon:

The "MIND GAMEZ" battle in the warehouse is pretty goddamn ridiculous but the series on the whole is worth the money I spent for the mango.

Still on the fence about buying the animoo box sets, but I heard that they're packing them with extra features not in singles soooo.

I learned that making ravioli on your own, while delicious, is not fucking worth it.  If you have a pasta machine, then maybe, but otherwise?  Hell no.

Oh god, I feel like any homemade pasta product needs a pasta machine.  I tried to make homemade noodles and all I got out of it was a waste of money and not-very-excellent noodles ;-;

If you know how which ingredients do what to the pasta, you can slightly modify the recipe to make it heartier/lighter/softer/more elastic, then add in the fact that you can then add other flavorings into the dough itself and it leads to the inarguable fact that homemade pasta is the best kinds of pasta.

I've been reading through the Achewood archives again.

Know what?

The single best piece of advice I have EVER HEARD was written in the margins of a check by a cartoon cat.
