Looking back at some of the Yoshitaka Amano artwork for Final Fantasy IV, VI, and even IX, I realize now that Amano's artwork didn't really work for the medium of a video game. Amano's artwork is good as a stand-alone, and as a baseline for the sprite artists and modelers to base around.
But this isn't about saying that Nomura is a screwy hack who shouldn't ever design clothing. This is about fun!
Worst Forums Ever, Let's Play Final Fantasy IX!
This is about an epic tale of mortality, justice, and searching for your place in this great world.
The world of Gaia has had its own share of strife, based on some of the backstory the game comes with, what with all the wars that have plagued the Mist Continent. In this world, airship travel is common and all that, which fills me with glee.
But anyway, let's get on with it!
Looks like someone decided that the best way to see the world was to set out across the ocean in a dinky little rowboat. And to not check the weather report prior to leaving.
...Huh. Looks like IT WAS ALL A DREAM.
Aww, don't cry, honey. At least you're not Yuna. You're also in a pretty nice place right now.
...Huh? What's with the tail?
Okay, gang. What we got here is a frilly-shirt-wearing nancy boy with The Mayor-like wrist cuffs. At least he isn't wearing crappy overalls with removable pant legs.
Alright. Seven characters.
