Thanks for noticing, Frug.

If the players get lazy and just say "I go north" when they mean "I go north, north, north," there are game mechanics that will not work properly. I am going to nip it in the bud. From this post forward, players must annotate all room movements separately, or I will take them literally.

I pick up the gold coin, and the pole from the new Niku corpse, then seize upon my years of watching scooby doo and carefully construct an elaborate trap using Niku corpses and the levers, where the end result is the goat man gets shot with arrows, while I am safe against the wall, near where the newest Niku is going to come out of.

I offer to team up with Niku once the goat man is dead.

Lyrai: You puzzle and scratch but there just doesn't seem to be a way to set up the trap with the materials at your disposal. You finally decide to just tie an arrowhead to a pole and launch it at the goat man from the apparent safety of the three-lever room. It pierces him through the neck. The fire has since gone out, revealing metal joints. The makeshift spear lodges in his neck... mechanism for a split-second, then falls out.

Exits: NE and SW.

Items: 3 10-foot poles, 4 gold coins, 2 arrows, a dozen internal organs wrapped in your shirt (human).

Which way is the goat man's room, and can I get a description of his room that I can see from my view again, Labyrinthputer.

An endless series of fractal serpent tails? Not sure I feel like wandering until I starve just yet, and potentially lethal rooms sound more exciting. I turn around and head North.

Lyrai: The room you are standing in is SW of the octagonal room. There are three levers on the NW wall. To the SW is a room containing a 10-foot tall robotic goat man wielding an enormous axe. The robogoat takes up nearly half the room and he's guarding a room to his right (your left) with a treasure chest inside, full of gold coins. You estimate that the chest has 300lbs of gold inside.

The room robogoat is in has gray stone walls and is nondescript save several gouges in the stone where the goat's axe has cleaved rock when slicing Niku clones.

Exits: NE and SW.

Items: 3 10-foot poles, 4 gold coins, a dozen human organs wrapped in a shirt, 2 arrows.

--------

Yoji: You head north twice and are back in the octagonal room. Lyrai is in the room to the SW, carving at a corpse.

Exits: N, NE, E, SE, S, SW, W and NW.

Items: A 10-foot pole, 1 gold coin.

Let's try that staircase to the North. The steps look a little dubious, so I give them a couple good jabs with my pole.

What's the shape of this staircase? A spiral of some kind? Or just straight?

Oh hey Lyrai, what's up

Yoji: The staircase holds firm. You take a few tenative steps up it and they creak a little, but feel sturdy. As you climb the box spiral staircase you suddenly realize this thing goes up a long ways. At least five stories. A fall from the top would kill you.

Exits: N (at the top of the stairs) and S (at the bottom).

Items: A 10-foot pole, 1 gold coin.

Ok.. that would be se, se, sw, I think.

Kazz: You go SE into the room with the tiles, gather arrows for a bit, then go SE into the octagonal room. You seem disoriented, and walk into the SW room which contains three levers on the NW wall. In the next room to the SW there's a giant goat man guarding a body that's been cut in half. Near the body lies a gold coin and a 7-foot pole. Yoji isn't in this room.

You watched from the corner as seven different Nikus entered the room and died comically. Lyrai then threw a spear at the robogoat.

Exits: NE, SW.

Items: A 5-foot spear, a 2-foot pole, 1 gold coin, 200 arrows bundled in your shirt.

Let's just take this slow. I head up the stairs, trying to find the sturdiest-looking spots as I go. (they go upwards, right?)

I offer everything I have to the minotaur, bowing to him and pledging to become his servant for eternity.

Yoji: You continue to climb the stairs slowly, checking each step with your pole before stepping on it. Everything is going fine. You reach the stone ledge at the top. Through the N-facing door you see total carnage.

It appears these are servant quarters, though these servants won't be helping anyone any time soon. The beds are hacked and chopped, the sheets torn and bloody, and bodies chopped to ribbons are strewn throughout. There is one exit to that room, going east.

As you stand on the stone ledge outside the servants quarters a ghost zooms through the room. It swipes your gold coin and giggles.

"Aww, wot a shame, lost 'is gawld."

Exits: N and S.

Items: A 10-foot pole.

--------

Kazz: You approach the goat man, entering his room. As your foot crosses the threshold, his axe comes down on your head, splitting your skull like a ripe melon.

You have died.

whrrrrrrr... click.

Oh, and I had such high hopes for you. Well, you can always try again if you like. You seem to be a little insane, but at least you're more cautious than some...

All right, I resurrect, sharpen my ten foot pole, go sw, sw, and stab that motherfucker in his huge guts.

Kazz II: *kting* Your spear bounces harmlessly off the metal bits beneath the burned rug that used to be his fur. He grabs it and pulls you into his room, then cuts your head off with the axe.

You are dead.

whrrrrrrr... click.

I had no idea the goat man would be this popular. Now available for sale in the secret shop: Plush robogoat toys. You will have to find the secret shop to purchase one.

I resurrect and begin dismantling the golden dragon statue until I can discern how it works.  IE, is it magical fire spewing out of the mouth, or is there a gas pipe with a pilot light, etc

Kazz III: You bash and bash upon the statue, eventually bashing the neck of the dragon until the flames stop spewing out. You keep working the neck until you break it off (imagine a lead tube the shape of a straw bent back and forth until it breaks), then pry the flattened neck open with your 10-foot pole. Flames start to billow forth once more. As far as you can tell, the fire is not burning gas or any other kind of fuel, simply very hot air belching up from the six-inch opening that runs down the dragon's desecrated neck.

Exits: SW.

Items: A golden dragon's head, a 10-foot pole, 1 gold coin.

That ethereal son of a bitch! I hurl my pole at him like a javelin, even though it'll probably do nothing.

Yoji: He snatches it out of the air and zooms into the wall with your coin and pole, disappearing from view.

"Ehehehehe!"

Items: None.
