Man, I don't rememeber what vagary of scheduling was responsble, but I watched a lot of The Jeffersons when I was a kid. Years before Seinfeld hit the air, Harry Bentley was my Kramer.

The Reg has a good profile on Andre Hedrick, who committed suicide a couple of weeks ago.  His most lasting contribution to our lives is that he helped prevent an industry standard, hardware-level DRM scheme that would have controlled basic file-copying operations.
