I'm very sorry, Thad. I'm quite close to several of my uncles, and I'd hate to lose any of them. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help.

It might be.

Anyway, you can add my condolences to the pile, Thad.

File that under "I didn't know it was still alive."

Still, reading the entire article, especially the quote, is a good way to make yourself explode.

And here I was thinking Garrison Keillor would be next after that stroke. Looks like I'm wrong this time. (translation: WTF Patrick Swayze??)

He'd been unwell for a long time, now.  They thought he might be pulling through, but apparently not.

Looks like Yoshito Usui, creator of Crayon Shin-Chan, died in a hiking accident.

Never saw Shin-Chan, but it looks like a lot of people are upset.

By the by, I'm surprised no one posted William Safire's death to our little ticker thread here.

That my friends was the very last of the Conservative pundit crowd with any redeeming value to them (his english-language etymological studies, in case you were wondering).

Lou Albano, 76, is now in Hospice care, which is never a good sign.
