Figure of speech.  Public education is a thankless job; those who do good works on Earth are rewarded in Heaven.

I don't think she confused Jill with Neilia.  She used the present tense, and AFAIK Neilia wasn't a teacher.

"Her reward is in heaven" is not frequently a figure of speech used to describe the living.

I'm going to consider it a tripup in her collective knowledge of her opponent.

I've heard that phrase before. It's not malicious; basically analogous to "Man, your job sucks. Sorry."

You can be wrong if you want, Shinra.  But when I saw it I got the impression she was speaking about his current wife, and the "her reward is in heaven" is a frequently used term to refer to sacrifice by someone.  Can you put your irrational hatred of Palin aside and fixate on more rational ones?

Fact checks: the The USA Today, MSNBC (via AP).  Some overlap, but at a quick glance I don't think they're the same wire piece.

Except, you know, in the Bible.  Where it originated.

Not that it's any surprise, but Palin's cadences showed pretty plainly that she was reading from a memorized script she hadn't had enough time to really work through.  Surprised Biden bit at a couple obvious trolls and reacted with the sigh.

i was personally amazed at how easily she was able to dodge questions.  all questions.  seemed she was able to only speak on points she'd prepared, which obviously helped her a lot.

Was Palin saying "nucular" throughout the whole debate?

It sounded more like "nu-kee-ler" to me, which is a little better than "nu-kyoo-ler", but not much.

Really, the problem isn't the word "nuclear" but that she kept talking about Iran when asked about countries with nuclear capabilities or that are seeking nuclear capabilities.

And that wasn't what she was actually asked about.

Scared you might be called a sexist during a debate with a female opponent?
The perfect play: Call her the sexist! (bonus points for near tears)  :perfect:

Yeah, I tend to grouse at accusations of "reverse -isms" as the whining of haves who don't have as much as they want, but sometimes it's justified.  In this case, it was.

Guys, Palin won the debate because she seemed like a complete idiot before and she actually did a little better than we expected.

So she improved more and therefore deserves to run the most powerful nation in the world.

It's a good thing Biden wasn't too hard on her, either.  He could've been seen as being a bully to someone who is going to be expected to defend our country from terrorists.  That'd be mean and unfair and maybe even sexist!  I'm glad he toned it down a bit like a gentleman.
