All those guys are lockstep with their own particular Edo-period Hakuma-wearing Japanese society though, despite their individual idiosyncracies.  Except maybe for Ichigo, whose backstory involves him being an outcast from society because his hair isn't black.

Japan knows how to do a fucking opening.

Which is expected seeing as how the standard over there is to spend your entire budget on them.

I believe various US cartoons that are brought over to Japan might wind up getting scenes edited out to make room for the usually longer opening theme.

But yes, Bo Japan knows theme songs.

This one seems even better. It's not as hard rockin' which is unfortunate, but it's got the really cool Scott-Jean-Logan love triangle section with slow horrizon pans, Rogue gets to hit some people, there's a sweet group slowly walking towards the camera shot, AND it has Spiral in it!

What saddens me is that both X-Men intros make Beast look seriously badass, yet my memories of what few X-Men comics I've read and the cartoon consist of him just kind of talking a lot.

Somehow it doesn't surprise me that Jubilee gets some attention in Japan though.

It's interesting that Beast is intelligent and civilized, despite his appearance, and they want to show that contrast. If he beats stuff up all the time, he's just a blue Wolverine.

I seriously can't watch any youtube the focus of which is "close-up of a guy with five chins being autistic."

Is there a separate X-Men anime or are those openings being placed in front of the same cartoon we had?  Sure, I loved it as a kid, but it simply can't live up to those openings.

Photosounder is a one-of-a-kind image-sound editing program. It is unique in that it opens images and sounds indiscriminately, treats and processes them as images, and synthesizes them as sounds. Sounds, once turned into images, can be powerfully modified to achieve effects and results that couldn't be obtained in any other way, while images of all sorts reveal the infinite kinds of otherworldly sounds they contain. Ultimately, knowing how sounds look and how images sound, you'll be able to create images that sound like what you want to hear, or like what you couldn't imagine to hear.

"We need to get the polar bears off the endangered list so we can drill there."

Whole thing was comfortably in the realm of "Your regurgitated talking points make gotcha journalism so easy" until that bit sent it spinning off into the realm of crazy.

Also less batshit, but I was grinning ear to ear at the implication that electing Obama, you know, Barack Hussein Obama, was a glaring signal to the world that we are no longer a shining example of a free country.
