I wish we had a thread where people talked about Wrath of the Lich King content and such instead of more e-penis bullshit that was just as tiresome on the official forums.

I think Blizzard stopped caring about anything not related to endgame content a long time ago.  Considering how bad the Draenei lore is, I'd be impressed if they pulled off something better than Wayside Stories from Wayside School (wait, no I like those books) the Resident Evil novels (S.D. PERRRRRRRRRRRRYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!  :MENDOZAAAAA:).  Illidan died the death of a little uninteresting bitch
(nevermind the whole thing with Kael'thas going OH HAI SORRY ILLIDUMB SARGARAS IS WHERE THIS SHIT IS AT NOW DAWG TIME TO ABANDON SHIP LIKE GENERAL GRIEVOUS)
and I'm pretty sure every other antagonist left in the Warcraft universe is quietly taking their numbers and waiting in line for their turn to get their pink slips from Metzen too.

Are you seriously suggesting that the gear inflation that happened due to Arena seasons and other new content is comparable to The Unstoppable Force vs other common epic/rare level 60 weapons?  Hell I'm not sure there were any other common high-end weapons pre-TBC.  I didn't really play much after I got to 60.  Checking Thott, I do see that the big raid drops were huge, but few people had those.  Tons of people have Arena gear, making gear inflation more pronounced.

Yet another point where you prove you don't know what you're talking about.  PVEing to PVP was very, very common in vanilla WoW.  Even on Dethecus, the complete shithole one-of-the-worst-PvE-servers-in-the-entirety-of-WoW server, multiple guilds on both factions had downed Nefarian and done some AQ40 early enough for it to count in PVP.  When you add in cross-server battlegrounds, I feel fairly confident in stating that raid gear in PVP wasn't that much less common than a decent epic Arena set is now.

I'm not sure what to say. You seem to resent the game for asking you to play it.

Oh, I play the game.  It's just that mostly, I play solo.  I can't depend on other people, and in fact don't even feel comfortable playing with people I don't know, so I don't.  Plus, you know, tanking was painful before the dungeon nerf.  Now, I'm considering it again.

... No really, you don't do dungeons? Can't you just buy two of those god-awful axes, spec to Fury and leech a bit? Good lord, man. I know Wrath's about to come out, but the stuff is practically free. It's certainly not a bad way to play with specs or pass the time...

I am actually Fury, and using those oh-so-terrible blue twohanders.  That makes it harder to group, not easier, because like you said, people need tanks.

Sure, dungeons are easier now, but you will need to do a lot of them to get a full set of gear comparable to the arena sets.  It's still not as easy to get competitive in PvP as you say.

Yet another point where you prove you don't know what you're talking about.

"Yet another"?  Would you please refrain from making shit up?

Oh btw, I see people in full arena sets all the time.  Like, 5 at once sometimes.  Maybe it's just the difference in realms or something, but raid gear definitely wasn't this common back when I was level 60 in Tichondrius, at least not so soon after the new content was released.  I just can't say exactly how much of a difference there is.

I always wondered why they called the story of World of Warcraft "lore".

It's because all the other stories got together and said "you may not call this a story."

Yeah, man; where the hell does WoW get off requiring you to be social and work together with people in order to complete your goals?  Video games are supposed to encourage you to become someone even your own mother finds insufferable!

It's almost like you rolled a tank class, and that classes that can't spec to do anything other than DPS are going to be better general, all-purpose choices to do so!

Also, it's almost like people don't want to mollycoddle someone who clearly lacks the initiative necessary to upgrade from a Crystal Forged Waraxe after two fucking years of TBC but I digress.

My Warlock had 150 resilience the day he hit 70.  I know people who, granted, played obsessively, but got kitted in full honor epics (season 2) after a weekend.  You can do it casually in a month, easily.  It just needs to be your focus.

Having goals and a plan to achieve them is the first step to success.  What the hell have you been doing with yourself?  Standing on the Org bank?

You are dual-wielding CFWs in the last weeks of Burning Crusade.  If you actually have any idea of what you're talking about you obviously can't be bothered to apply it.

It's almost like Arena gear is really fucking easy to get.  Crazy, I know.

Stormwind Stockades. Ragefire Chasm. To be a true achievement faggot, you'll have to make a suicide dive into the enemy capital.

My plan was simple: Zip over to the northern coast of Westfall, waterwalk to the harbor, and sneak into the stockades along the west side of Stormwind. Park District and Mage District.. only four people could feasibly even pass through.

RPers, Lost People, the Teleported(who will go directly to the AH) and the rare lowbie doing Legend of Stalvan. This plan couldn't fail!

Even better, I've got the minor glyph to make Water Walk reagentless and with my fresh Enhancement spec, Ghost Wolf is instant! I can move across the water at 140% speed! I've even got my Headless Horseman broom for instant mounting!

Things are looking good as I hear the sounds of imminent doom, entering the zone boundaries of Stormwind. I bust out my fishing pole and catch something while standing on the ocean. Fishing Diplomat Achievement get!

I reach the harbor and mount up! Fortune is on my side! For some reason the Harbor Guards are unique level 65 NPCs! I'm gonna do it....

FFFFFFFUCK A GROUP OF FOUR LEVEL 75 GUARDS ESCORTING A DEFIAS NPC TO THE STOCKADES

Death #1. At least I'm only wearing a tabard. Reparing purples is expensive.

FFFFFFFFFUCK I REZZED AT EASTVALE LOGGING CAMP THAT'S ON THE OTHER FUCKING SIDE OF THE ZONE

After no less than thirty hours I return to my body at Stormwind. I am between the Park and Cathedral districts and there are no readily available docks out of the waterways that promise not to dump me in front of more level 75 guards.

It's time... to make a dynamic entry.

I rez in the water way. Water Walk, Ghost Wolf. I loop around the corner to the dock... next to the Legend of Stalvan quest guy! No guards! No people! I mount and swoop around, corner Line of Sighting a guard entering the mage district!

I ACCELERATE TO AN UNPRECEDENTED 208% MOVEMENT SPEED WITH MY WHITE BOOTS(MITHRIL SPURS) AND TABARD ON! NOOOO THERE ARE TWO MORE LEVEL 75 GUARDS AT THE STOCKADES ENTRANCE.

DYNAMIC ENTRY

STONE CLAW TOTEM PERFECTLY ON TOP OF THEM IT PULSES I AM NOT HIT

FUCK YEAAAAAAAAAAAAH I WALK IN HOP THE STAIRWAY AND ENTER THE STOCKADES

FUCK YOU STORMWIND FUCK YOU I WIN WITH ONE MEAGER DEATH!

:D Bazil Theed down! Achievement get!

All Classic Dungeons completed! Achievement get!

Tried my old paladin out today with a 93 DPS blue two-hander, freshly lifted from normal Mechanar in the days of yore.

Oh god this is so retarded. All I have to do is face-roll in the general direction of my Hammer of Wrath hot-key.

We LOVE Ret paladins. Seriously. We made a ton of changes to the spec that we wouldn't have done if we didn't care what happened to the class. When we did Naxx tests and people brought Ret paladins, it was great. Even before they became overpowered, there were several posts by Ret pallies saying how they liked the changes to their class (so I don't think it was just an issue that they were rolling over everyone that made them fun).

Sadly, you were overpowered by a considerable margin in both PvE and PvP. That was our fault (mine really) and not anything the community did. Most Ret pallies actually seem to agree they were OP and only argue with the magnitude of the nerfs.

Yay, now they made avenging wrath useless in PVP again.

This is seriously retarded - Why are paladins the only class getting nerfs right now? And why so many, and so poorly conceived? The only goddamn reason that avenging wrath didn't cause forbearance anymore in the first place was because nobody used it in arena. Making it so you can't bubble while wings was up would have been an acceptable change, but making you have to pick between the two again is just fucking stupid. To make things even better, they increased the duration of forbearance to 2 minutes, despite there now being a talent that reduces wings cooldown to 60 seconds. Guess those talent points are fucking useless now, huh?

Imagine if warriors had to pick between using either berserker rage or intimidating shout in an arena fight, or if druids had to pick between roots and cyclone? Yay for class fundamentals being fucking worthless in any practical situation.

I was doing Warsong Gulch yesterday, and I am not exaggerating when I say that the enemy team consisted entirely (100%) of ret paladins, rogues, and a single arcane mage.

It was fucking hideous.

So they left Paladins almost entirely broken? I mean, I guess Holy is INTERESTING if you are a healer who loves a challenge, but...

See I was arguing that you can't hide that Ret was OP and that is a problem. I was also hoping that the solution to that problem wasn't to flip the fucking scale over.
