I don't mind Deathclaws too much, they always throw themselves at the cone of swift fiery death I keep in front of me at all times.

Deathclaw solution:

"Hey dogmeat, can you stand over there for a second? Right, right next to that big scary thing."

Deathclaw glove to the back of the head, silences them in two or three hits for me.

The March DLC will remove the endgame and raise level cap to 30!

Yes, but apparently they cause instability.

And presumably "ten more levels" means "five new sets of perks".

I just got this game and it is the most engrossing thing I have ever played, I cannot adequately described how satisfied I am with this depth of exploration: I am a man who has been thirsty since birth and has drank of water for the first time in his life.
I am only up to first entering the Citadel after Dad dies and have not spoiler'd myself so be gentle.
I am an explor-a-holic and an alt-a-holic, so I'm up to two proper Good and Evil characters, remaking the Evil one because my stats were not properly twinked for my very first character!

Good guy is Kenshiro, natch. I got a power-fist from Rocksalt's shed(My luck started at 7 and I intensed it to ten because crits.) There is nothing as representative of a good cum shot as VATs slow-motioning my fatal crit punch on a super mutant: I do not punch his limbs off.

I punch his torso so hard that it flies off, leaving the chunks to hover a split-second before gravity kicks in.

Also when VATS lines your character up perfectly: i.e. kidney punching a Super-mutant into a railing that he flip-flops over, coming up behind a super mutant and hammer-crushing his spine and he screams in pain.

You CAN punch a lot of turrets to death if you are willing to jump-punch in FPS mode.

The evil character is SUPER SNEAKY + SHOOTS ALL GUNS now, because I realized that after level ten or so you can easily max the skills that matter(sneakina, lockpickan or whatever) and ignore the ones that don't(Barter is useless, hahaha.)

Remember, explor-a-holic. I can have 2k caps before I breach DC or the more dangerous parts of town. It's also nice to get hunted by Talon Mercs who are carrying valuable valuable laser rifles!

My evil sharpshooter has 1 str, after I realized the only difference between 1 and 10 str is 90 weight. And ammo/plot-items/good medicine is weightless. So.. wow! Kinda dumb! But she has like 9 Agi/Luck/Int and 7 Perception, so  :perfect:

Kenshiro is having some difficulties at the moment: He's level 12, and apparently at least 50% of his wild-life spawns are PAIRS OF FUCKING YOAI-GAIS. Kenshiro is hard-core enough to punch a mutant bear so hard it explodes, but two is fucking insane: stim-binging + drug-binging. He's been addicted like seven times already.

Is this intentional? I was also exploring the world at the time, extensively(forgot where
Tranquility Lane
is.)

Also I have ignored sneaking entirely. Use mentats + buffout and pretend your shirt was just blown off!

Also the best part of using the power-fist is tapping left-click as fast as you can and screaming AAATATATATATA and then holding it down so that you can WOH-TAH and then when they're at the last 1/3 of your health you vat so you can punch twice and KRAKERETSU KEEEEN

I'd hit Moira like the fist of a wandering hero in an apocalyptic wasteland.

you probably want to find the FISTO. its better than the stock powerfist.
and definitely make the deathclaw gauntlet, that thing crits like a motherfucker and IGNORES ARMOR.

there's also a mod that makes melee/unarmed vats cost far less AP.

FISTO makes any FIST based project that much more achievable.

I seem to run into the same two recurring problems in Fallout 3 playthroughs.

1) Exploring is fun! But now everything is scaled to my ridiculously overblown level and what should be a tidy side mission is a vault filled with 20 Mirelurk Hunters.

2) My best explorer/fighter so far is.. my evil character.  As cool as it is to depopulate the world and enslave the survivors, your suite gets kind of boring and there aren't as many delicious quest-adventures to go on....

Thinking of some sort of wacky set-weapons guy.. maybe sneaking melee with a graduation into energy/big weapons. Alternatively, somebody who can comfortably wear fully repaired power armor!

All my characters always get 100% repair.

Games just not fun if my weapons break.

I like being a good character more. The evil quests are very evil, and ultimately not very rewarding. And if you want the mesmotron you can always just kill the slave leader.

Just to see what happens I once gave the Outcast Brotherhood the Alien Blaster. The result was pretty funny. "WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GET THAT?" and then he offered me shotgun shells or stimpaks for it. So I used the mesmotron to make his head explode.

Ok finally got a character going that I feel can beat the game when my exploraholicism puts me at level 15 before I even finish
Dad Quest
.

Melee/Explosives/Energy Weapons, with average stats with a few bumps here and there... picked up Toughness(+10%), Cyborg(+10%),
Harold Quest(+5%)
and wearing Metal Armor with intentions to Power Armor it up. Passive 50% DR makes a world of difference, yo.

I decided to celebrate being ultra-combat-worthy by depopulating Paradise Falls exclusively with the Super Sledge.

I'm pretty sure there comes a point in every good character's life where you just walk into Paradise Falls and clean it out.

Considering you have to either do that or something evil to beat the game, then yes.

...really? I did it but I don't remember how it was necessary to beat the game. Unless I did the evil thing by accident.

It's near the end, so you probably wiped the damn place out long before anybody gave you any reason to.
