The football question was great.

I like how he said he wasn't about to tell his step mother what to do, before saying "I'm not stupid, that's how I got to be president."  ::D:

:serious: Someone in the administration needs to push forward on the playoff issue. Could be a populist vote-getter.

The simplest choice would be to have the four bowl games work as playoffs, and then work from there, since the funds that flow in from the bowls are what keep these universities gridlocked into this farce of a system.

And Ted Stevens has lost the Alaskan Senate race

Huzzah, Alaska doesn't reelect a convicted felon. That leaves Minnesota as a coin toss and Georgia as 'it would be nice' in terms of probability.

Happy Birthday, Teddy!

:victory: This should also lessen the daily media Palin stories from six thousand to five thousand!

I'm somehow enraged that George W. Bush more votes than Alfred E. Newman.

...or maybe he got exactly as many votes as Alfred E. Newman.

What perplexes me is the 4 votes for Obama.  Did somebody not know he was running, but had heard the name and thought he'd be a good write-in candidate instead of those other two guys nobody had ever heard about?

Or were they illiterate terrorist trying to get Osama elected?

What constantine said.  4 people who are apparently too dumb to participate in Democracy.

Not really that surprising, actually.

Also I'm now upset that I didn't support Tommy Chong.

Hm. I wasn't aware that a Chuck Norris reference had made it's way into Fallout 3.

Nine - to - One odds the three that voted for Donald Duck and three that voted Mickey Mouse were counting on bringing the vast ACORN syndicate to its knees.

I guess it'll be a couple of decades yet before Super Mario is a write-in presence in Florida.

Challenged ballots in the Minnesota Senate race, as sourced, oddly enough, by Kurt Busiek on Newsarama's Trinity #25 annotation comments section.

Some seem like they should be thrown out -- it's hard to say what the person in #3 was trying to do -- some look more like they should be kept; it sounds like the "NO" next to Coleman in #4 is valid under Minnesota law, and "Lizard People" in #5 doesn't look like an overvote because the bubble's not filled in.  (Though this should serve as a cautionary tale: if you're putting a joke write-in, don't do it on a part of the ballot where you're actually voting.)

The challenge on the thumbprint on #2 seems a little dickish; it looks like an accident to me.

As with Tina Fey & Sarah Palin, 236's valiant stupidity couldn't overcome reality-based stupidity.

I remember one interview I caught at random during the election that I thought was an SNL skit for like 5 minutes until the usual bits of screen clutter came up.

That and the one with the blacked-out ballot with one not-filled-in oval is shamelessly cribbed from The Daily Show bit about Bizarro Hitler's face being entirely covered in mustache except for one tiny area on his upper lip.
