To anyone playing animal crossing or would check out animal crossing today: today Nintendo gave an event item having to do with the DSi.  I am curious if anyone got an item other than DSi B?

It's just me, but other people have it so they should check if they got anything other than DSI B for a piece of furniture :T

Is this in City Folk or Wild World? I just turned on City Folk to find... nothing from Nintendo. After over three months of inactivity, my character has bed-head, though.

Is your clock and calendar correct Rosen?  There should be a letter for you from Nintendo that Pete brings right to your door as soon as you load your character.

I assume you are talking about the DS version. I checked. Nothing happened. Except Resetti yelled at me. Again.

I double-checked, but nothing happened again. I had to correct the time for DST, but the date was correct.

That's really strange.  And I'm talking about City Folk, since this is the city folk thread.

That would make sense. I suppose.
I was just fixed on the DSi event and assumed it'd be on the DS game.
I have no idea why.

Roger, Chester moved into my town.  He is very adorable...but he crushed a ton of flowers, a palm tree, and didn't move in Maelle's spot, so now I have his house right on the beach where I like all the empty space :(

By the way, turning this game on yesterday for a few minutes made me miss it. Especially because it looks so much nicer in the spring - I was sick of snow and the fall colors are just drab. All my earlier complaints about its lack of portability still stand, though. I wonder if Nintendo will ever make a very original Animal Crossing game that shakes things up and doesn't feel like a retread. Ideally for DS or DSi, but I'd even play it on a home console if it was different enough.

I'm still enjoying it, and most of my grass has since grown back.  It's just so relaxing.  Here are my current residents:

I still can't believe I had three bears, two horses, and that damn chicken (who took forever to leave my Wild World town only for me to get him again in City Folk). Your residents are all really cute.

Francisco Cindino, son of Eduardo, prime mover of narcotics from Wild World. Avoid eye contact.

William Bedford, aka "Billy Bedlam." Caught his wife in bed with another. Left her alone. Transported four towns over to the wife's family's house. Killed her parents, her brothers, her sisters, even the Nintendog.

Nathan Jones, aka "Diamond Dog." Former general of the Black Shoppers. He blew up a meeting of the National Feng Shui Association saying, "They represented the basest negativity of the city folk."

This one's done it all. Kidnapping, robbery, murder, fishing. His name is Cyrus Grissom, aka "Cyrus the Virus." 6 years old, 5 of them spent in our town. Earned two degrees, including his Balloon Doctorate. He also killed 11 fellow neighbors, incited three riots and escaped Tom Nook twice.

That is Cameron Poe. A singer hitchin' a ride home. He's a nobody.

Pinball Parker. Armed robber, arsonist, axe fiend. Hell of a nice guy. Just got caught.

The Marietta Mangler. Butchered 30 somethin' folk, up and down the WFC. They say the way he killed those people makes the Manson family look like the Partridge family.

HALP!  I need the princess sofa or princess table from GracieGrace and today is the last day they're there.  They're 50% off no less, and I have the money and can send it to you or bring it to your town if you will pick these things up for me.  I think Roger is the only person even playing anymore, but that doesn't mean somebody isn't capable of turning their town on just to get this stupid crap for me and it doesn't require any amount of work.  Pleeeeease :D

Luckily I got out of my morning class early, otherwise I'd be at school or work all day and wouldn't be able to do anything. I'm going to turn the game on now and see how much money I have left over after buying a ton of shit back in December.

Okay, I just checked and I'm sorry to say that I can't help. The only furniture items remaining are the Lamp, Closet, and Bed and everything else has the "Sold Out" sign.

A stupid bird moved in today.  It's just birds, birds, birds.  Every time a fucking duck moves, a fucking other bird moves in.  And moreover, this little douche Jay moved on top of 3 sets of pink tulips, to a location that is inconvenient to my paths through town and his house looks exactly the same as the animal living right below him.  I didn't even know a house could be in this location.  Argh.
