If you want real value, Steam is doing a 50% off sale for a ton of actual modern titles that are still in the $50 range. I cringed really hard at Arkham Asylum 50% off even after already beating it.

Yeah, the Lucasarts pack is a scam - a lot of their stuff is buggy as all hell in Steam format because anybody who cared about customers left Lucasarts a long time ago, let alone the dubious value of owning  But Dragon Age at 25% off within a month of release? Looks like the joke's on me for preordering.

Definately getting Arkham Asylum at that price, saving it for a rainy day.

...Wait, how long has Republic Commando been on Steam? Never mind, that actually means that the pack might be a decent price... Monkey Island, KOTOR, Republic Commando, that's $30, Fate of Atlantis, LOOM, The Dig...

Then again, those probably don't work as well as they would in SCUMMVM; I happen to know that the Steam version of Dark Forces is objectively inferior to just running an ISO in DOSbox - which, curiously, is almost how Steam runs it anyways.

But Republic Commando is an incredible game; IMO it's the best "true" 3d game Lucasarts ever made, and the last truly great game LucasArts made. It also has the distinction of being the best implementation I've ever seen of single-player squad-based FPS.

Oh, I was thinking just the regular version of Dragon Age was at at discount, but it turns out the digital deluxe one, or the complete edition as I like to call it, also has one. I think I might have to get it now.

Eek, a shame about Batman having securerom even on Steam.

Osmos is worth the two bucks.  It's basically what Grow should have been.

Today on Steam: KOTOR for $2.50, Dead Space for $15, L4D2 for $37.50, Majesty 2 for $10.

Majesty 2 is the sequel to an obscure game from 2000 which had the (as far as I know) unique mechanic of being an RTS managed entirely with fiscal incentives - there's no direct control over heroes and such, the entirety of your control is in the collection and allocation of taxes into infrastructure to attract heroes to your kingdom and solve your problems for you. I recall the original was awesome; I'll report back later on how well the sequel holds up.

ATTENTION CANAJUNS!

So, the last guy to have this apartment was with Rogers. Anyway, they bug us every now and again. Today I got an unmarked envelope, which I thought was from the Super, but it turns out I got a special "OH GOD PLEASE COME BACK" package frm Rogers.

Now, I'm not gonna sign up with them. And if you're not going to do so yourself, don't worry, BUT if you ARE thinking of hooking up a new internet connection soon and IF you were ALREADY thinking of maybe going with Rogers, I have a coupon for a free netbook (Compaq mini 110C) contingent on signing up for Rogers internet & cable if anyone wants it.

Probably just going in the trash, but I figured it doesn't hurt to make a post and wait a couple days just in case, eh?

Preachin' to the choir here - I'm with Bell. But in some areas, Bell's speed is so abysmal that Rogers looks good, so...

Psh, if the Steam version of KotOR is actually stable on Vista/Win7, I'll pay $2.50 for it.  I tried to play when I still had Vista on this computer, and I had to spend hours modding the damn thing just to make it crash only once per hour.

Apparantly there's a Sega game sale going on on the PSN which you know, who gives a shit, except it also means you can get Crush for the PSP for 40% off.  It is one of the few games I totally cite as being an awesome exclusive on the PSP.
