:glee: Yay!  My Famous Maker 24" LCD Monitor with HDMI is here!  I sure am glad I joined Woot! to buy this!
:oh: Um... so... where exactly is the HDMI?
 :nyoro~n: Oops!

Odds are pretty good that they're going to offer a free HDMI to DVI adapter and call it a compromise.  You know, ignoring the fact that you lose the audio signal that way, so you still can't multipurpose the thing for game consoles or anything cool like that.  Meanwhile, I'm kind of afraid to hook the thing up in case they ask me to return it unused.

Not knowing Woot! by reputation I'm wondering if I should feel as much like a gullible moron as I do right now.

I bought a video card from woot that arrived with several capacitors rolling around in the box.  They told me "too bad." ::(:

Okay, I couldn't resist at least hooking it up for a bit to see what it looks like.

It looks like this fucking 1080p monitor is 1200p.   :rage:

So Woot!'s agreed to take the monitor back for a full refund (apparently it's the only monitor out of like 10 that they sold during the Wootoff that wasn't and HDTV/Monitor hybrid, ah ha ha ha ha), and/or offer a $15 kickback for necessary parts if you decide to keep it.  I'd be honestly tempted if I were buying a computer monitor seeing as how they underreported the resolution, but I kind of bought it under the assumption that I'd be able to jack a PS3 or something into it, so off it goes.

Meanwhile, the copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy I sniped for $33+4 just arrived early, so I'm feeling way less chumpy right now.

Steam presents Steam Play Indie Pack.

$20 nets you:

And Yet It Moves
Galcon Fusion
Machinarium
Osmos
And... uh... World of Goo (in case there's an indie gamer who doesn't have World of Goo, I guess)

Since apparently half of you guys bought Dreamhost last year, can you give me a rundown of how it's treating you?  It's time to switch up my hosting and while my only real complaint about A2 is that it's slightly laggish, I kinda wanna know all my options.

Oh, and I got the refund for my monitor from Woot!, so no, they're not actually massive pieces of fraudulent shit.  Just kind of embarrassingly sloppy.

I've used it for embarrassingly little (I hosted images on it, and I installed wordpress to see how it worked but didn't do anything with it), but I've had exactly zero problems, for what that's worth.

I used Dreamhost for a bit. Didn't really do much with it.

Got a LOT of spam from them, though.
Not "make your penis more money at night school with hot singles" spam. Just a message from them a day or something.

I only have a couple of domain names registered with them.

On the minus side they used negative option billing to sign me up for $150 worth of hosting.

On the plus side, they did refund my credit card pretty quickly once I talked to them about it.

http://www.ramenbox.com/

pretty much the opposite of discounted stuff!  I still bought a box to sample a bunch of kinds I've never had before that sounded neat because I have a fondness for terrible dried noodles.

Not sure what other thread to put this in.
Brother is selling his hacked PSP-1000, has GEN firmware, with 8GB Memstick, for $100.

http://www.ramenbox.com/

I gave a little thought to buying one of these until I saw their most popular ramen, which I can easily buy from both Kroger and HEB. Fun fact: while that stuff is pretty decent as far as instant ramen is concerned, a single package has more sodium that your actually supposed to have in a single day.

Anyway, it looks like you can buy Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga and DDS2 for about thirty dollars each over on amazon, if anyone's interested.

Does it still count as "supporting" homophobia and domestic terrorism if you're taking the food for free?

I count being forced to eat anything from Chick-Fil-A as domestic terrorism, so yes.
