Steam has been doing an EA week, with a different theme each day. Today is Racing Day and Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box is $7.50 for the rest of the day. I highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys racing, crashing, or racing and crashing. It's best with a gamepad, of course, but I've used the keyboard controls too, and they're surprisingly good. In addition to that, if you find you enjoy it, there is a huge amount of DLC available including a whole new island about a third the size of the original city that you can pick up if you are so inclined. It requires you to use EA's store, which has a funbucks system, however, unlike Microsoft points, these numbers aren't based on pieces of eight or some shit, and you generally end up paying exactly what you want.

EDIT: Oh, and there's no installed DRM.

God damn it, I now have like a half-dozen Steam games that I haven't even installed, much less played.

I learned my lesson on that with Mount and Blade (I also have the free Portal too, I suppose).

I've got 3 or 4 games on steam to play... 2 PS2 and a PS1 game... 3 PS3 games... And a 64 game.
All bought in the last 2 months.

Steam gets you to buy games which you won't play until the vastly improved sequel is released. In Mongrel's case there's now a sequel to Mount & Blade with multiplayer.

I need to get Dead Space, Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age out of all of this (Possibly spore+parts packs+Galactic adventures if it's <$10 together). Here's to hoping for super cheap.

I was waiting for Mirror's Edge to be a fiver again.  Yoink!

50% off Dead Space is probably a pretty good deal too but nothing in that game ever grabbed me.  Which is good because from what I've seen you really don't want things in that game to grab you.

What was the status of Dragon Age's DRM again?

Spore alone is $30. Whole set is $60.

The retail version has nothing but a disc check
No idea if the Steam version will be cocked up or otherwise just use Steamworks.

No DRM mentioned on the Steam store page, which they always do with DRM now. Except for the DRM implicit in using Steam, there's nothing installed or anything like that.

Valve days begin and end at Noon Pacific (which I think puts them on Iranian time, humorously enough).

Anyway, go to sleep.

Barnes and Noble has a clearance on comics.  The good shit's going fast; I went to grab a bite of dinner and by the time I got back they were out of Get a Life and Shaking Her Assets.  And I did not go out for dinner.  I went into the dining room for about 15 minutes.

They've also got the 4th Bob Howard - Laundry book as a free download.  Don't know if that'll do you any good if you haven't read the first 3 (and it won't do me any good because fuck you if you run Linux -- "Works with any computer" my left nut), but hey, it's free.

Awww, I just missed out on Marvel Adventures Hulk. D:

I did manage to get Marvel Adventures Iron Man! Also Weapon X, Locke and Key, Teenagers From Mars, a couple of Spider-Man books, Completely Doomed, and a bunch of 30 Days of Night books, for just over $40. I'm pretty happy with that.

I got a couple of Spider-man books, including both Spider-man J books and I finally got around to buy the complete works of Milne.

God dammit. Can I just go ONE day without buying something?

Also, old Doctor Who DVD's appear to generally be a couple bucks cheaper at B&N than Amazon.  I rounded out my order with Vengeance on Varos and Remembrance of the Daleks for $7.50 each.
