And now SE's got 40% off on physical media -- all the way back to Chrono Cross.  (And FF Anthology/Chronicles, if you want those for some reason, but they're pretty much the worst versions of those games.)

40% off the MSRP though, so don't expect many CRAZY DEALS.

Nah.

Mostly it's just convincing me that I was right when I didn't buy Deus Ex for $12 the other week on the assumption that it would be on sale for that price pretty frequently.

Mad Catz has a sale on.  Good a time as any to buy Street Fighter controllers.  (The expensive-ass Pro joysticks are down to $100; gamepads are $20.)

Anodyne for a buck.

Haven't heard of it before but it looks a lot like Link's Awakening.  Which I think is a good thing.  (Then again, I never managed to get into the Oracles games, and they looked EXACTLY like Link's Awakening.)

Hey, I remember working on those. They were moderately funny.

El Shaddai is three bucks on the xbox live marketplace

I've heard enough good things about it for that to seem like a really great deal.

Absolutely worth it for $3. No question.

Looks like they won't take MS Points, which is irritating -- up to this point I've been following Shinra's(?) advice to use only prepaid points cards to buy things on Live, so that MS doesn't keep my CC on file.

I've got a little bit of money left on a gift card I got for Christmas, but it's under $3.

Hm -- I could use my Chase debit card.  I really should get around to closing that account.

All that said, as I've often noted I shouldn't be buying games right now anyway.  And, appealing as $5 Bioshock is, I already have the PC version free and I think it PROBABLY wouldn't bluescreen on the opening cinematic now that I've underclocked my graphics card -- but then again, SecuROM.

Anyhow, here's a list of games that are going to be similarly discounted in the coming days.

I don't own a 360, but I have a Live silver account and can get to a 360 at a LAN Cafe in town.  The site's telling me to log in on a console before letting me buy El Shaddai (I've logged in on a console within the last few weeks, but deleted the account there when I found I couldn't use the cloud save function).  Is Microsoft trying to lock this game to my account on a specific console?  Am I unable to just bring my account that purchased the game on a USB stick to the cafe, download the game on whatever console I use there and play it?  Have I been spoiled by Steam's flexibility?

Used PS2 games, $1 at BestBuy.  They're not shipping them so it looks like you'll have to check availability at your local store.  Some good ones in there though.

Free shit on Google Play this week.

At least, hypothetically.  Everything keeps erroring out for me.  I assume due to demand.

Welp, I missed last month's sale on Arkham City for $14, but the closest we're likely to see in the near future is GameStop's current sale, $20 for a new copy of the GotY edition (Xbox/PS3).  Or $19 used, if for some damn reason you think a $1 difference is a large enough incentive to buy used.

EDIT: And once you add in tax and shipping it's like $3 off instead of $10.  Will check and see if they've got the same price in brick-and-mortar stores; short of that it's not worth it.

Or you can buy it on Steam today, if you don't like your computer very much.  Fwiw I've made it a point not to buy any version because of that.

Nah, I've already played through a borrowed copy of the Xbox game and I'm not going to start over on a new save.

The box art of that is still hilarious.

Yeah.  I remember seeing it at GameStop used and thinking "Well, it doesn't have the original packaging...wait, actually that's a GOOD thing."  But then I realized it was Asylum, not City, so I didn't buy it because I already have Asylum.
