This would be consistent with what I have heard.

I dunno, Youtube's been disappointing me for over a year on the Sons of Anarchy/Futurama video front.

Hey, so I saw Tangled last week!

It's pretty good. Nothing spectacular, but better than the marketing would imply.
It was also the first digital 3D movie I've ever seen. The 3D adds absolutely nothing to the experience outside of the prerequisite "HEY HERE ARE THE TWO MAIN CHARACTERS SURROUNDED BY SLOWLY DRIFTING GLOWING OBJECTS. ISN'T THAT COOL? TOTALLY NOT COMPENSATING FOR THE FACT THAT ANYTHING FASTER THAN THIS WOULD LOOK LIKE ASS" scene.

Yes, but does it actually take away from the movie as a whole? Because a digital 3d movie that knows its technical limitations and sticks to them is actually a hell of a feat in my opinion.

Things occasionally move too quickly to look good, but that's about it. Most of the time the 3D effect isn't even noticeable.

Yeah. The only time I noticed it was during the scene teg mentioned and when they did the one 'reaches towards the screen for a split second.'

I don't know what was up but during the floaty scene, the main one wasn't working for me. I saw it as two separate objects floating next to each other. Even if I tried to screw my eyes to make it work, it only made things worse.

oh lordy

so that's what's keeping Ridley Scott's Brave New World from happening

otherwise looking forward to Brave (I'd guess a replacement title like Brave girl of north but what nincompoop would go against Disney's lawyers?)

Related: after Disney changed the title of Basil of Baker Street to the much blander The Great Mouse Detective, a wag in the animation department circulated this memo:

Disney would never been able to sue people for naming something "Rapunzel", but they can now if you name it "Tangled".

Man, now I wanna know what happened with Brenda Chapman and Brave. I'd be really interested in finding out what changes Pixar wanted made so badly that it she had to be fired before they happened, especially considering it was basically "her" movie (in the same sense that The Incredibles is Brad Bird's movie[/i]).

http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/andrew-stanton-explains-john-carter-name-change-says-girls-wont-see-a-movie-with-mars-in-the-title

SERIOUSLY WHAT THE HELL

hmm.. by my extensive research quickly looking at imdb ratings I have found two similar films and have found that one that bears the title of mars indeed received a smaller rating yet the other film had less female votes in general

therefore I have concluded that Disney wants the world to forget about mission to mars.

There are plenty of good reasons not to use the word "Mars" in the title, not the least because all the science that has happened since Edgar Rice Burroughs wrote might get people to preemptively dismiss this fantasy movie as "unrealistic," so I don't see why they need a bad one too.
