From what my Review-Sense tells me, the major tradeoffs seem to be the visual style, ghost-wrangling in the Wii version relying on waving the wiimote to follow on-screen arrows, and the fact that the wii version has no unique multiplayer modes like the PS3/360 version, instead opting for a co-op campaign. Whether that's a good or bad thing seems to vary from one reviewer to another(could it be that videogames are... *gasp* a subjective experience?!)

No.  That idea is wrong and you're stupid for having it.

So it sounds like it's the same as any cross-platform release across all three consoles...? :wat:

I had heard the overall experience is shallower on the Wii, but haven't seen anything to back this up.

Not really. Instead of trying to shoehorn a scaled down version of the game onto the Wii, they designed it to actual play to the Wii's strengths and weaknesses.

I had heard the overall experience is shallower on the Wii, but haven't seen anything to back this up.

As far as I can tell without actually playing it, the only thing that was removed were the multiplayer levels. But they added an actual co-op campaign.

trying to wrangle ghosts into traps with the mouse feels really, really twitchy.

Slam-dunk trapping is fun, but I my aim is usually off and the ghost doesn't hit close enough to set the trap off.

'Tis swell, no doubt, but Shock Blast Rate Increase proves to be the one, true ass-kicker. Equal damage to Boson Darts, at four times the speed.

I disagree! Boson Darts have range. Shock Blasts lose penetration over distance. The rate of fire is no contest, particularly when dealing with corporeal animators (or swarmers), but Darts are natural for "trap only" haints. Though switching to the Meson Collider and hosing down the quicker types with Overload Pulse is... Well, mostly just fun.

PRETEND YOU'RE GOOD AT OTHER GAMES

Star Name aside, Wilhelm von Homburg (R.I.P.) had a far more imposing delivery... And far more imposing lines, of course.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE CHEESY PAINTING OF THE FOUR??? Zzzooommmggg.
God bless and keep you, Mr. von Homburg. You were a heck of a threatening and malevolent presence for me as a kid. I'm... Sure that will score you brownie points with the Big Class VII Himself? Yeah?

Anyway... Eh. I would've been more satisfied
with an actual boss battle
. "Menace" is kind of pointless if nothing comes of it. That makes an aging Sydow a good call, among other reasons.
AND ARE YOU SAYING THAT MY GEEKY MUSINGS ON THE MATTER ARE NOT SUFFICIENT??? I WILL KILL YOU AND THEN TRAP YOUR WAYWARD, BLOATED SOUL IN MY LATEST FANFIC, ARC!!!
My final judgment should be coming soonish. Could be wordy.

:justasplanned:

'Cuz, you know. Egon's the best one.

You are wrong and everything you do is wrong. The best 'buster is the one everybody thinks is slow-witted. :itsmagic:

...And yeah, he totally is. Sorry, Z!

fu venkman ftw eat a dongwaffle

Oh, brother. He would be higher up on my list if he actually stuck to the job.

I kid, kiddies. Everybody is free to be incorrect and go with the heart, mind, or mouth of the team instead of the soul. :whoops:

Winston is a pretty cool customer, but I was always more partial to the mind, over the heart or soul.

Yeah, that little bit in the Central Park graveyard was pointless and... Kind of welcome, really. It's something you can get away with in a vidja game, but not in a flick for the most part.

Should've gone with a "Toast Me" sign as well, Ray. That really would've taken Gozer down a peg.

ha ha you are a nerd and :racist:

You mean beyond "I'm a eugenicist, and whites are superior?"

Though "I'm a man of science" is nice, too. Now go make me an actual proton pack, Dweeby McContingent Factoid.

The sad part is that Winston had a bigger part in this game than he did in either movie.  :nyoro~n:

...Which I thought was a welcome change, actually!   :8D:  I like Winston.

There would obviously be an outcry of racism if Winston wasn't more important to the game.

There would obviously be an outcry of racism if Winston wasn't more important to the game.

Winston didn't even inspire the creation of any gear, nor did he offer any practical insight into the goings-on (yeah, looking stuff up in the library is about all he could've done). He fought and explored alongside "Hoss" for at least as long as Egon did, and possibly as much as Ray. He's always been "important" in the sense of the perspective he supplies and who he is, but he isn't "more important" in the game.

I'd say the game made the correct use of the right amount of Winston. I don't mean to say the game is perfect, mind, but I was not let down.

Maybe I should clarify.  Winston had a lot more screentime in the game than he did in either movie.
