Another terrible sketch of Path the robot.

Quick note: I'm not even trying with these. I'm basically just hammering out this guy's design.

I like the red clothes on gold skin, it's got an elegance + passion thing going on. Reminds me of Geese Howard for some reason. I think you have something good there.

Oh, hey, looks like my call to arms worked sorta.   Don't want to look like a hypocrite now, so if we're posting robits...

A quick sketch of a mechanical man that looks like Shredder's and Darth Vader's inbred cousin.  And while I'm at it...

A drawing I did a few weeks ago of the rare and elusive Romosomerus, a species primarily known for being dumbs.  Also, a penis with stick arms throwing up the horns, apparently.

Another sketch of Path, this time drawn with reference photos. Also some dialog I've always imagined him saying.

http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l14/Stushcinta/SakuraSunSketch.png

I wanna work on this one some more later, I think I might add extra people to the picture, just because that's the only way to really show how ridiculously big sakura is, she has sort of a hard time because of it, she has to duck to get through most doors, she can't fit in small cars, she has to get custom-made shoes, but luckily she knows a thing or two about making clothes, so she just made herself some sandals, and most of the clothes she wears are home-made, too.

The thing on her belt is one of the computers that is hooked up to her brain, the first one is actually imbedded inside her, it's just a really simple one that controls the functions of her organs, The other one controls non-vital functions, Including regulating the parts of her brain that are damaged, so it helps her with talking and motor control, but she can turn it off and her heart won't suddenly stop beating. It also contains all the stuff to let her browse the net and chat and draw and write with her mind, and to link up to other computers and machinery.

I made the head a bit smaller from the sketch, http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l14/Stushcinta/KatePaperSketch.jpg But I still think it looks a bit too big. I think I have vertical proportions worked out fairly well, just gotta figure out the horizontal ones.

It is a bit too big, but the cartoonish quality seems to suit the proportions.

Top tip: ideally, a figure should be two heads across from shoulder to shoulder.

All done! I really like how it came out. I've noticed that pretty much all of my best drawn pictures have a front-on view, not 3/4 or anything like that. Maybe I have a lot of trouble with 3/4.

I think 3/4 is harder because it doesn't have the advantage of symmetry to fudge over errors in construction. Our brains are hardwired to overlook a lot of flaws if these flaws happen to be replicated along a vertical mirror axis (in which case they pass for features, natch). The moment you look at someone from any significant angle, that crutch doesn't apply anymore and you gotta be a lot more rigorous with anatomy and perspective to make things look natural and "correct".

In any case, you're making me feel like trying my hand at coloring some of my stuff again. I haven't done it in a very long time, which kinda surprises me because I liked how my Threadspace/Steam avatar turned out at the time (five years ago maybe? file properties say 2007) but haven't really taken any kind of serious shot at the process since, for a reason I can't properly identify.

It ain't close to perfect and I'd do several things differently now but I can't say I entirely loathe it, even though I can't stand to look at much of anything else I've done from that period.

I was OCing with a friend, and finally came up with a design for an old character of mine that actually looks decent. This is Irene Fletcher, she's currently working as kate's secretary, but in the past, she was one of the world's best stealth operatives. She has three sons, identical twins, one a naval officer, one a pilot, and one a marine, and her husband works as an accountant, Like kate, she was kidnapped by alien invaders in the 1950s, and used in experiments, She's actually younger than kate is, but she wasn't as compatible with the anti-aging implant as kate was, so she looks a lot older.
