Are you supposed to be able to beat the boss shadows that appear after you clear out a dungeon once?  This dude is kicking my ass no matter how much I grind..
The reverse trap is kinda obvious by her voice.
There I put spoilers on it.  I'm not as much of a spoiler-man as the rookie cop from this game.  Oh, is that too much info too?

Saturn, by the way was considering changing his name and avatar to that guy and blurting out an unmarked spoiler in every post he made.

... that's actually pretty hilarious but thanks for not doing it.

Currently at 5/08 and am still trying to accept that I'm having a lot of fun with it.  "There's not enough parts where teachers ask you trivia questions" might not be a valid complaint, but I'm going to say it anyway because I need to justify my posturing and shouting, "COME ON MOTHERFUCKERS, ASK ME SOME QUESTIONS, I GOT MY BIG VEINY BRAIN RIGHT HERE" somehow.

Are you supposed to be able to beat the boss shadows that appear after you clear out a dungeon once?  This dude is kicking my ass no matter how much I grind..

:negative: All signs point to using the castle trip to grind on regular enemies and leaving the boss for a later date.  This knowledge was gleaned from an exhaustive study that involved having most of my party get one-shotted in one go.

Well, there is easy modo....

Never an option.  Go big or go home.

Oh god, it's past 2 am and I can't stop playing.

P3 took me from August until early January to finish, because of the fall game load and Tartarus got boring after a while. (I was practically playing the game in "real time" by the last few months.) I have a feeling that I'll be finishing this one a lot faster, at this rate. Doesn't hurt that, apart from a few finals, I'm on vacation for a month.
The reverse trap is kinda obvious by her voice.
I just now got to this character's introduction. My first thoughts:
Hey, she's kinda cute but she's speaking a little funny. Hey wait, isn't that the "boy detective" that one of the creators mentioned in the interview? That's supposed to be a boy? ...I bet she's hiding her identity or something. Let's check the spoilertastic art book. Yyyyep, that's a girl. This is almost as obvious as the blatant silhouettes on the Midnight Channel that I immediately guess but none of the characters can get until it's rubbed into their faces.
I'm on Hard mode and I've been beating the optional boss shadows as they appear. Mostly it's a matter of using the proper buffs/debuffs, using your best attacks, not being afraid to blow whatever healing items you've gotten, and fighting the battle over and over and over (and over and over...) until luck finally swings your way. When you win you can search the room to get a fairly decent weapon for the appropriate character, so it's worth doing early.

The planets have finally aligned, and I have my copy of P4, some free time, and my Teddie doll. If anyone needs me, I'll be playing for the next 100 some hours.

I actually started over on an easier difficulty because I got sick of getting trashed in a maelstrom of critical hits.

Where did people get the Teddie dolls?

6/07.
Kanji is some sort of Japanese high school punk version of BRIAN BLESSED in combat and he is awesome for it.
Dunno if that's worth spoiler tagging, but I'm not taking chances.
King Moron's replacement
is awesome.  What the fuck is wrong with the class that they don't want an
attractive horny female teacher?!
Rise is way better than Teddie as a support character.  And she get experience just for commenting!

And Finally, Anyone else stop using Yosuke entirely as soon as they had the chance?

Yosuke's not so bad, really. His physical attacks and magic are both decent, he can use Dekaja, and he can even heal in a pinch. I was much more disappointed in Kanji - he has high strength and endurance, sure, but his magic sucks a big one, and so does his agility, so he often has trouble actually hitting. He gets to stay in the lobby from now on.

Yosuke just seems to be bad luck for both me and catloaf.

he critical misses on me really often, even with 94~ hit.

I actually like Yosuke. He's probably my heaviest hitter at the moment.

Then again, I'm not far enough to actually switch him out yet even if I wanted to.

Main character:  Most versatile, most awesome
Yukiko:  Awesome Healer-Mage.  relationship lvlMAX--Amaterasu get!
Chie:  Decent physical, good agility, and mediocre magic, but I just love enemies killing themselves with her counter. relationship lvl9
Yosuke:  Only useful to me for his wind abilities.  relationship lvl3
Kanji:  Good Physical, not much else, but I never need to heal him.  As things do little to no damage or miss.  relationship lvl2
Teddie:  Currently has awful selection of spells, but good attack, and great heal spell.  relationship lvl4

Rise:  More useful than Teddie as support.  Unfortunately she can't fight.  relationship lvl3

Reverse Trap not unlocked.

I have not figured out how to up Kanji's, Teddie's, or Rise's relation ship levels when it isn't automatic.

Teddie is automatic only. Kanji is in the first floor of the school practice building, and I think Rise is on the first floor of the main building. Kanji is in front of the textile shop on holidays, and Rise is in front of the tofu shop.

Unless you're referring to non-hanging out situations. In that case, you can choose to tutor them during the week before exams, or cook lunch and eat it with them. Unfortunately, that's not often enough.

I'd like to revise my stance on the optional bosses at the ends of the dungeons - they're all actually fairly easy, it's just the very first one that's a huge dick with his rampage attack that kills everyone not lucky enough to dodge it. I've beaten the rest of them all on the first try. They're less threatening than the non-optional bosses at this point. A couple of them even have weaknesses!

The first one is amazingly easy if you try it after beating the boss after it.  The rampage attack does 20-30 damage rather than 70-80-100+ damage.

OK.

I am not kidding here, not joking around or just saying things.

I want someone, kazz, or thad, or whoever, to ban catloaf and his idiot brother for two months, or at the very least, restrict their posting privileges.

failing this, i will just leave the forums until i am done with my playthrough of P4 because they are
fucking retardedand don't ""get"' spoiler tags or something.
