Suprises are surprises no matter when they happen.

Use a fucking spoiler tag.

Say, speaking of which, is it too late for somemody to go back and tag that shit appropriately?  I mean, it was stupid of me to think it'd be okay to read this thread even though I hadn't completed the last game in the series, but c'mon.  They're not even obviously connected; I should at least get some warning ahead of time.

Meanwhile, debilitate is exactly the opposite. It only effects one enemy and costs a fair bit of SP to cast, so you end up never really using it for random encounters, but it's completely awesome for boss battles. I don't think I could have beaten
Margaret
without it.

Wait.  Nanako?  Not Chie?  Guess it randomly inserts a name, then.

I just had an "awkward dream" wherein I dreamed I was Eri's parent.  Isn't Eri the mother of the troubled kid at the day-care center?

Yes she is. The who and the what in dreams seem only mostly randomized. I've also had dreams where my MC dreamed he was also Nanako's or the old lady's dad, or that Eri or Sayoko was chasing him.

Also, I just got Alice. She has the best introduction ever.

Alright, finally got some time to make some progress on this bad boy.

I pretty much fell in love with
Kanji
the second I saw his freaking folding chair in action. His whole dungeon was by far my favorite so far, at least thematically.
Rise
's was alright, I suppose, but the payoff seemed a bit rushed and they didn't spend too much time analyzing why she is such a
dirty, dirty whore
. I can forgive this on account of
Teddie's
nihilistic despair, though - really hope this is revisited down the road.

Maxed out drama club girl's subplot, which was alright, but not necessarily worth the effort, I'd say. I'm working on Chie's and Ai's at the moment, both of which seem a bit more fun. Anyone got any suggestions on clubs to join up with? My other one was sports club, and it hasn't exactly been blowing my socks off.

Freaking LOVE Chie's special attack, by the way. Roundhouse kick OFF THE MAP is so, so dang satisfying. Wish the combat system had more of these little game-breaking cartoonish combat moves to shake things up, but it's plenty fun as it stands. Teddie's been making for some good fight talk recently.

Slogging through the retro dungeon right now, which is starting to wear a bit thin. These things seem to be about 4 levels too high, if you ask me. Also, FUCK this FOX. Going up levels with this motherfucker has got to be the most work of anything so far. If we're not best bros after this I swear to god I am driving a car bomb through his gay-ass shrine.

You only get the two clubs to join. But there's a bunch of part-time jobs you can get which basically have the same effect. Also you get money.

You'll want to get as many of your party members' S. Links finished up as you can, though. There's a bunch of bonuses for doing so, not the least of which is that they lose their weaknesses at max (except for Yuki and Teddy).

Oh, and yeah, Chie is the best character. In addition to her semi-all-destroying Galactic Punt (which works on even mini-bosses), later on she gets some techniques that effectively turn her into your strongest attacker.

There was also a biology lab that's been locked, an English department that's on the fritz, and a computer lab. Do those just never open up? Figured they were new clubs for the next season.

Maybe I'm farther in than I thought!

Anyways yeah, my current setup is Chie,
Kanji
, and
Teddie
. I don't really expect it to change that much, but I might give MYSTERY GUY a run for his money and replace
Teddie
if he doesn't stop being comically terrible by that point.

Anyone else think P3's music was a bit more enjoyable? I don't mind 4's at all, but I dunno, 3's had a bit more oomph to it. FES' battle theme was a party, and I haven't heard anything that rivals the likes of Master of Tartarus yet.

You want to keep either Teddy or Yuki in your party, actually. They're the healers, you see.
