Bought this today. Was waiting to beat the third one but GameStop was having a clearance. $17!

Best deal in the history of ever. Persona 4 is the game of the all times.

I know I know. But I wanted to beat Persona 3: FES because it would make P3 look like shit.
And I love P3. Enough to convince TWO people in store today to not only buy the PSP version, but to reserve it.

Makes me feel kind of bad planning to buy P3P entirely in hopes of getting P2P made someday.

...okay, and I want to seriously play Persona 3. But the faint hope of remaking 2 is strong.

Was 2 anything like 1? Because 1 was an extremely stylish game that sucked hard.

2 was way better. The only slight against it now is that it's kinda grindy, but that can be readjusted in a remake and is way more bearable on a portable system anyway. Other than that Persona 2 is a fine pair of games that hold up pretty well today. (okay, IS has some extra annoyances they fixed in EP, but those are minor)

started playing tonight. Now, it may just be the alcohol or the fact that you don't do more than choose between 3 responses for the first 2 hours but wow.
Persona 3 is already more interesting and more fun.

But I do like the visual style.

To say that I just got ganked for the second time by the same enemies on the 4th floor of that dungeon, FUCK YOU, CLASSIC.

You cannot be serious! That was the most tedious damn slog ever! Couldn't wait to get out of that place.

I really haven't been a fan of the dungeons in this game so far. I never beat P3, but I definitely remember them mixing it up with a fight on a nightmare train and some other cool shenannigans. No such luck this time around.

It's weird. Tartarus is thematically monotonous, yes. It barely has structure and you spend way too much fucking time there. And yet—

Persona 4 fucks it up with the sense of scale.

The dungeons are thematically customized, designed rather than randomized, and they have vastly superior meta-dungeons structure, but they just fall apart the first time you look at the map and see these enormous, solitary hallways, with several hundred feet between rooms and forks. High-level concepts aside, P4's dungeons are far more forgettable.

I dunno. P4 still's got random dungeon going on. It's just that the "locked" floors, the floors that aren't random, are more memorable(i.e. annoying).

You only get the two clubs to join. But there's a bunch of part-time jobs you can get which basically have the same effect. Also you get money.

You'll want to get as many of your party members' S. Links finished up as you can, though. There's a bunch of bonuses for doing so, not the least of which is that they lose their weaknesses at max (except for Yuki and Teddy).

Oh, and yeah, Chie is the best character. In addition to her semi-all-destroying Galactic Punt (which works on even mini-bosses), later on she gets some techniques that effectively turn her into your strongest attacker.

You also get different S-Link plotlines and such depending on which clubs you join. New game+ ho!

Do the max S-Link items serve any purpose?
