He's totally gay and hot for you, Wiseman.

Also: I have never in my life heard of shots of white russians. Generally you only do shots of straight liquor.

I'm not a drinking connoisseur, but I thought it was generally just straight liqueur as well. White Russians are Vodka, Kalua and Milk mixed together. He was using a shaker and mixing things for the shots.

S'why I don't get drunk. Drunk people do stupid things that usually aren't as amusing or clever in retrospect as they seem at the time.

Well, there's a line between losing one's inhibitions and mutating into a antagonistic furytexting motherfucker. Don't drink to get wrecked, just follow Wiseman's lead and drink enough to loosen up.

I think that really depends on the person and what those inhibitions are holding back.

Ween concert last night was fucking awesome.  They played a ton of songs and many of them were ones they don't frequently play.  I even got a setlist at the end of the show, and we were right up front against the gate.  Fucking excellent show.

The setlist included:
Piss up a rope
Golden Eel
Flutes of the Chi
I'll Be Your Johnny on th'Spot
Captain Fantasy
The Grobe
Zoloft
Sorry Charlie
Fluffy (didn't play it)
Little Birdy
Laura
Even If You Don't
Freedom of '76
Woman and Man
Pork Roll Egg and Cheese
I Don't Want It
Awesome Sound (didn't play it ;-;)
Argus (didn't play it ;-;)
Your Party
Tried and True (didn't play it ;-;)
Chocolate Town (didn't play it)
Joppa Road (didn't play it)
Fat Lenny (didn't play it)
Roses Are Free
Now I'm Freaking Out (didn't play ;-;)
Happy Colored Marbles (didn't play it ;-;)
Transdermal Celebration (didn't play it ;-;)
I Saw Gener Cryin' In His Sleep (didn't play it ;-;)
Going Gets Tough (didn't play it ;-;)
Sketches of Winkle
Shamemaker (didn't play it >:O)
Buckingham Green
HIV Song
Birthday Boy (didn't play it ;-;)
Baby Bitch (didn't play it)
Dr. Rock (didn't play it)
Help Me Scrape the Mucus (didn't play it)

In addition to the setlist, they played some cover of some song called Honesty or something.  It was quite short and at the end, Gener was like "Hey, I think they want to hear it again" and they played it all over again and it was quite hilarious.  They also played The Mollusk, and there may have been one or two other songs which I can totally not think of right now.

Best part of the show was that they didn't play Take Me Away.  I mean fuck, they opened with Piss Up A Rope.  So much better than Take Me Away.

How coherent were they? I've seen bits and pieces of concerts and know that they tend to forget shit and make up new words. Not that that's a bad thing.

So yesterday I was wondering the Kingston Streets looking through used book stores for something that would rekindle my practice with matricies and linear algebra, as I'm pretty horrible with it right now and finally pushing through with school in the fall..

Three used book stores around a legendary school - and nada, although there was a fun book on Finite Maths, which is something I enjoy for the gambling reasons...

That and work as always has me me dealing with bureaucracy, which can be stressful as sometimes as there are those who do everything they can to pass the buck..

As the jackal says in Farcry 2:  "The military teaches you two things:  How to deal with bureaucracy, and how to avoid bureaucracy"..

So naturally I am a bit stressed here and there..

So a package arrives for me on the base today from the states.  One on regular algebra and some rudimentary 2-d geometry, and the other that involves an introduction to matricies...  and a stress ball of all things!

Thanks Lyrai!  Sometimes it's not the item that counts, but the timing.

Also my students hit the ground today, and they were actually not half-bad with military bearing and beginning the cohesion train.  I hope for an easy August personnel-wise so that it makes the 14-day study weeks and 10 day exercises in the deep bush easier..

for those who read my rants about the possibility that the pentagon might ban tobacco, this is where cigars come in handy...

FYI, the Pentagon rejected the report's recommendations in favour of "smoke 'em if ya got 'em".

Most of the time, I seem to either have the worst possible timing, or the best possible timing. I'm glad in your case, it was the latter.

They really only ever do that on a couple songs.  And as far as I've ever noticed, it's generally on purpose.  Except Don't Laugh.  Gener just can't ever get that right.  Anyway, they were fucking on--spot on.

The last couple of days have been kinda double-edged, but things are looking fairly positive.

On Monday, I get a call-back from a placement agency that I was marginally in touch with back when I got out of the Navy.  They had a position they were looking for in Washington State.  They say that the company wants to do a phone interview.

Not more than five minutes later, I get a call back saying to "GET YOUR ASS TO THE TELECONFERENCE"

I get on the teleconference, and interview with three guys.  One in Whidbey Island, Washington, one in Fallon, Nevada, and one in Key West, Florida.  The phone interview consisted of about 3 questions about my experience, and about 10-15 minutes of swapping sea stories and bullshitting.  I felt good.

Yesterday, I go out to the movies with a friend in a late birthday celebration.  About 20 minutes before showtime, I get a call from the placement agency.  They want to extend a provisional offer.  What's holding it up?  Background investigation and other stuff like that.  Given my previous job, that won't be too much of a factor.

I get an e-mail this morning to fill out and fax back a conflict of interest form.  No biggie there.

Guys, I think I might have a new job very soon. :nyoro~n:

Maintaining EA-18 Growlers.  There's a little more to it than that, but that's the basic gist of it.

I'm personally pretty jazzed about it, as I've worked on the airframe before.
