Well, the Cookie Crook got a dog sidekick. Then they eliminated the Crook. Then the Cop. Then the dog got a makeover as a non-criminal. That brings us to today.

I think I knew that (more-or-less) before, but that does not diminish my rage, or how out of touch with modern ad campaigns I am!!!

It's cool, only kids feel old these days anyway.

(also the picture was to show off my weekly grocery shopping. The catfood is only for when I run out of cereal)

I do think that is John's favorite food. I remember him once living off of garlic bread and cookie crisp for like 3 months....

i don't know if i'm manic-depressive, because the most i ever get when i'm "up" is like, "hey, i might actually be ok!" and not like "FASTER IS ALWAYS THE BETTER OPTION."

Like, when i say i'm feeling good, i mean i can actually stand the thought of being alive . that hasn't been the case for years.

I never noticed mania before I took lithium for three months and then fell off it. Up is not necessarily a positive thing - anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia and lack of judgement are all parts of mania. If you have bipolar disorder and have not traditionally medicated you're probably so used to the symptoms of mania that you don't notice them, since they tend to be a lot more subtle than depression's SLEEP TWELVE HOURS AND CRY WHEN YOU WAKE UP

My experience with manic episodes is a complete lack of filtering in the brain. Like my brain thinks of something to do and just does it. Like grabbing something and spilling it all over the floor. Or calling a random stranger a dick. Just doing without thinking, and you can't settle or focus on one damn thing.

This can get dangerous because as mania climbs higher and higher, you start doing dumber and dumber things. See: The person who went manic in their car and decided to just drive as fast as they could. No, I'm not referring to the comic, I'm referring to what someone actually did.

Yeah, generally when Mania kicks in judgement goes right out the window. It's not as bad for Type IIs, but it's obviously not a Good Thing for anybody.

Back in september I bought tickets but sold them because I didn't think I could go but today I skipped school, ditched work, and kidnapped a friend and we drove 4 hours to catch the concert
It was sold out.
So we stood outside for two hours.
and the bouncer let us in. Concert was awesome. Am now tired and will sleep.

Streetlight Manifesto.
Lionize and Terrible Things were there too, I guess.
Lionize wasn't that great.

My grandpa sent me a birthday card as usual. This one had a joke about gas prices.

Now, he used to have a cartoonist friend who died years ago; I noticed the card was drawn by him - I'm sure he got a pile of free greeting cards from him.

Then I noticed the card was from 1977.

He had a stock of cards that went so far back he was able to save them until they became topical again.

My granddad is awesome.

ten miles biking to and from work. freezing rain and high winds all day. i got splashed by a bus after leaving work an hour late, and went home soaked to my shoes. passed the river in the wind and rain, and looked out on the lights of the city, listening to Birth of the Cool, dripping water from my helmet onto my gloves.

i don't remember ever feeling so good in my entire life. for the last two weeks i've just had an enormous and continuous swell of what i guess i just have to call joie de vivre. is this what people feel like all the time?

Bike rides do that.  They're among my favorite damn things in the world and I really need to take more of them.
