I had to re-read that sentence five times before I understood it.

Dancing Beemo probably didn't help.

Went to my first ever concert/rave type thing. Saw Skrillex and a few other acts. Went with a friend from High School who I'd been wanting to catch up with. We had a great time, and although it was my first time driving so far away, we only got lost twice! And both times required just a simple u-turn.

Knowing Skrillex and the type of people attracted to such shows, I really expected it to be a hell of drugs and STDs. Luckily, it wasn't. Well, some areas of the auditorium were, and I probably still smell like marijuana. But I had a good time and neither of us was bothered by anyone strung out on Ecstasy.

I really have a bad opinion of the world and the people that populate it, don't I?

Skillrex is too mainstream to have any large amount of drug use going on at his performances.

There were some guys with LED pacifiers, which I'm told is a tool used by meth users to prevent teeth grinding, but the alcohol was the most notable drug. There was a girl wearing nothing but a tshirt who was really drunk and really starving for attention from whomever would give it (event staff and concert-goers alike). My friend and I just kind of huddled together and waited for the event staff to show up whenever she came by, hoping she didn't bump into us.

Finally got some medication. Dunno if it'll work out forever but talking with a doctor about it is definitely a step in the right direction. Also got a new laptop, which can't do all the fancy things my desktop could but it'll play tf2 so I don't have to miss out on hats.

Good for you. Sometimes even just knowing you took a step in the right direction is enough to help you turn things around.

Thank goodness for that at least.

Please be sure to talk to your profs if you can.

You should remember to formally withdraw from your classes.

I might not need to. I'll be meeting with all of my profs on monday to see what needs to be done, how far behind I am, and what my chances of catching up are.

Make sure you tell them about talking to a doctor. I fell behind for similar reasons a few years back and my teachers were very understanding and let a lot of things go.

Yeah, I've got a doctor's note explaining my absence. I'm hoping this all works out.

Grandpa had surgery yesterday. The entire time he was cracking jokes and having fun with the nurses. It's not often he relaxes enough to do that sort of thing but when he does it just makes me feel... like I'm actually part of the family you know? Sure my dad makes bad puns, but it's almost mechanical when he does it. To see my grandpa wink at a nurse and make a silly joke just validates me somehow. Sure it took drugs from surgery in order to get him to that point but hey.
Then we went back to my grandparent's place for cake.
Then I had a nice date followed by hanging with a friend of mine last night. We've been friends for 17 years or so. We grabbed a few drinks and caught up a bit. Always a great time. He's back in town for a few more days so we're going to try different bars every night.

Good times are on a roll.

Did he get any dates? If so, it might be genetic.
