Went to a ballgame for the first time this season, with Starr and a bunch of dorks from work. It was fun, we all had a good time, and the Jays even deigned to win!

Had to get a physical today, as part of my new hire stuff for my job. everythingwentbetterthanexpected.jpg

I mean even my blood pressure is 121/77, which is about as close to perfect as can be expected from a big fat guy who intends to continue eating all the salty snacks he wants.

Oh.

O-oh...

I just got a follow-up call.

When the doctor said my blood pressure was 121?

He meant psi.

I'm... I'm just gonna go lie down and stay away from sharp objects for a while.

... so your blood pressure is sixty times human normal?  That seems unlikely.  I think perhaps you misinterpret.

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

R^2 used PSI Splodin!

Also yeah 121 pounds per square inch seems pretty unlikely unless you're a living potato cannon.

I am pretty sure that doctors would never give a blood pressure reading in PSI.

And also that R^2 would be very very very messily dead if his blood pressure really was 60 times the average.

On the trolley home, a homeless guy jumped on a couple of stops after me and immediately busted out some gin and V-8 Splash, and started playing Tupac on his boombox. Sadly, despite his best efforts the party was not started, and he left a few stops later when a transit security cop boarded the train.

On the good side, I got an international unlocked BB Z10 for $350 (translation: I got a phone that normally retails for $600 + tax + activation fee + unlock fee for $350). Thank god for rich kids with too many toys.

OH SHIT SON, SOMEONE JUST GAVE THIS CAVEMAN A CAR. AS SOON AS I CAN FIGURE OUT WHAT THIS MAGIC STICK DOES, WE ARE TOTALLY DOING SOME SWEET-ASS DONUTS.

I had a real Kobe beef steak my last day in Tokyo.  It was amazing.  It also may have given me diarrhea, even so, totally worth it.  Best fucking steak I've ever had.

Another great moment for me in Japan: winning a giant kitty plush (link for a reference of what it looks like) at a UFO catcher in Akihabara, I didn't even want it all that bad, but the high that came with winning it was the kind of thing that could lead to a gambling addiction.  I'm amazed it fit in my bag.

Got a root canal today and 15 minutes later I was eating a sandwich.

And I only needed one instead of the four I was dreading.
Welcome good news for a rough week.

Got invited to my karaoke DJ's wedding, which I thought was pretty cool in itself. Then two days before said wedding, he texts me and asks if I want to actually run the music for the ceremony and reception, because the other DJ fell through. So I showed up early today, helped decorate a little, and learned what some of the fiddly knobs on the setup do. I tend to find weddings tedious, so having a job to do made it a lot better.

Gen Con. Just, Gen Con.
It's absolutely magical to be in a place with 50,000 people who all get me. Where I can solicit any random stranger at 1 am for a game of Red Dragon Inn.

Also, working running game demos for Slugfest for 8 hours was intense, but fun. Fastest 8 hours evar. And my RPG I pre-regged for was the best con game I've ever played. Got to see old high school friends, spent time with kashan, and all dreth's friends seem cool. Drank the most delicious cappuccino that has ever existed. And only bought things that I've actually been using. Four solid days of good tiiiiimeeesssss.
