Two new gifts to report!

First, my package from Iron Mongrel arrived. INSIDE:

A very nice box holding everything. I usually don't care about boxes, but this is a lovely high quality Christmas gift box, with a solid lid and heavy-duty cardboard paper.

1 manga - Banya: The Explosive Deliveryman.

3 PC games - World of Goo, 18 Wheels of Steel: Haulin', and The Godfather.

A Christmas card from Evil Cat calling out one Tony "Bruce Sirius Wayne" Strickland for a world-ending showdown.

Second late Christmas gift: A friend of mine, after hearing me bitch about it, dropped $75 on a NewEgg gift card with the exhortation to "Get A New Freaking Hard Drive."

You should totally scan that card for display.

P.S. DID I MENTION THAT DOGSTAR SIRIUS THE GODDAMN BATMAN LIVES IN THE GODDAMN BATCAVE?

PHAT LOOT '08 THREAD UPDATE from MAGFest:

I crawled in to Arc's trunk on a magical adventure.  At MAGFest, he had a crap load of old toys, Bernstein Bears books, and many other weird things.

I procured from this magical car trunk:

1 Usagi Yojimbo action figure.
13 VHS tapes of Evangelion.  Now I can save myself the trouble of ending up re-downloading them whenever I feel like hurting myself.
1 Slinky.  It's fun for a girl and a boy.
1 Box of K-Nex.  Expect many hours of creative arts and crafts.
"I Left My Sneakers In Dimension X" by Bruce Coville.  The second in a trilogy of books about a kid and aliens and stuff.  Really amusing book-fair fodder.

Oh, and he did do a thing for me:

I has a Dreamcast.  :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv: :wuv:

So far, I've gotten:
1) Monty Python's Complete 16 Ton Megaset
2) A Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones huge display box
3) A 500GB and a 160GB SATA Hard Drive, putting my total space at over 1.5TB
4) Socks. (Seriously. I need them. The move destroyed what socks I had for some inexplicable reason)
5) Some REALLY nice mittens.
6) My parents are giving me nearly $1k in the form of reparing my car.
7) A $30 gift card to Wal-Mart
8) $25 cash
9) Haven't gotten everything yet.

Additions: Futurama Vol1, Tiny Toon Adventures Vol1, Freakazoid Vol1, Indiana Jones Adventure Collection (The first 3 movies. My mother's mad because she thought it meant I got Crystal Skull, and she hasn't seen that one) Negima 20, FAUST (Del-Ray Manga Novel thing)

And from Worst Dirty Santa Ever: (Thanks Kayma!)
2 Sketches, one with Snoopy on the Tennis Court while Mario watches, the other with a bunch of Shy Guys around a Xmas tree
Odin Sphere
the Lego Indiana Jones/Kung Fu Panda disc from the new Xbox Bundles
Golden Sun 1 & 2
Gradius Galaxies
Some...weird..monkey hand glove fur thing EDIT: I figured out how to operate the monkey.
Cooking Mama
Fullmetal Alchemist Novel 1 (I, er, have this already, so I'll donate it to one of the toy drives around here. Sorry!)

Curses!  :determined:

I was hoping when you said "I totally have all manga ever" it wouldn't apply to manga-based novels. Foiled again!

Also, I'm glad shipping wasn't delayed by the NSA because someone dropped your package and got freaked out.

From Kayma!

The Ref, starring a young(ish) Denis Leary.
Eyetoy: Groove. Maybe now I'll actually use my EyeToy!(spoiler: probably not)
Gameboy Advance games! Metal Slug Advance and Gunstar Superheroes. I actually received the second one in a previous DS gift, but this one came with the box and manual.
Contact for the DS, which I literally bought for myself like two weeks before Christmas.  :derp:
Manga! MPD Psycho vol 1. 17 pages in, naked dismembered girl. Niku would be disappointed.
A Woot! monkey, with a pink cape and hood, and stretchy arms for SUPER HUGGING ACTION!
Two cards! My guess: he was going to just put one card in, but then he used his time-traveling powers to discover that Buge was also sending me a card, so he made another card in a blatant attempt to win me over! But it won't work, because I love all three cards equally!
And the strangest gift of all(yes, stranger than the dismembered naked girl manga) A burger king(I think) toy of Michelangelo that, when you press his head, releases a smaller, wheeled version of himself out of his back. Behold!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzii7M6kMFw
Also, you can't see it in the video, but he looks like he's performing the heimlich on himself, which just adds to the strangeness.

Again on the loot from Arc:

The Escape from L.A. soundtrack features a track by an old favorite band of mine, Gravity Kills.  It's a remix I have /never/ heard before of the song Blame.  Fucking sweet.  Thanks.

Oh right this.

Lady Duke sent me ....
a handful of random Magic cards.
some dice.
a Pokemon toy of something calling itself "Aipom".
Vol. 1 of the Phoenix Wright mangazation ... mangafi ... okay like a novelization but it's a backwards comic book.
The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon, by Stephen King.
And four DVDs, of movies that look really mindblowingly bad.  The Crippled Masters, Black Cadillac, Soulkeeper, and Falcon Down.

Rosen's package arrived.

...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HrfCixsd2N8

Season Collection One coming to DVD, January 27th, 2009!
It... was already released on DVD. I bought it in early 2003.

:painful: Uh-oooooooh.

- Mega Man Animated Ruby-Spears Volumes 1 & 2. Guilty pleasure.
- Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. Perfect timing, will complete before Mass Effect.
- Alf: Season 2. What.
- Lupin III Volume 1. Decent.
- Lupin III World's Most Wanted Volume 1. Outstanding.
- Alan Moore's America's Best Comics (Collected). Neat-O.
- Hellboy Volume 6 - Stange Places. OK.
- Peanuts For Everybody. Classic.
- Superman: Emperor Joker (Collected). Sweet premise.

Best of all, the packing.

Sho nuff.

Zach Attack!

Pirate's gold. Please be pirate's gold.

- Disgaea DS. Unopened, brand new. Dood.
- Lava Punch  (Signed). What.
- Kill Giants #1. ^_^
- Hellcat # 1, 2, 3. Drool.
- Prez - First Teen President #4 (1974). Vampire nazi assassin. Of course!
- Booster Gold #13. Perfect timing, since I only had up to 12.
- Army @ Love #3. Overrated series. :|
- The Bozz Chronicles #5 (1986). Fancy.
- Gurren Lagaan - Shoko Nakagawa Sorairo Days CD. Hawt.
- Obama / Biden Button. Safely stored away.
- Sport Beans & Candy Cane. Both accidentally opened during transit, and smeared across the other contents.
- The Wizard of Speed & Time DVD. Still never officially released on DVD, and hilariously anti-union.
- The Wizard of Speed & Time 3-minute short. Created a full ten years before the film.
- The Majestic, Hellboy, and Samurai Jack DVD copies. Work flawlessly.

A sample of Lava Punch:

And The Bozz:

Two packages of impressive variety. High fives all-around.

I has a Dreamcast.

... With three controllers, three visual memory units, and three hundred games. Hooha.

Did you see the note that Guild wrote on the outside of the box? It explained the path that the box took:

By complete coincidence, I got my package from Dogstar just before I went to the post office to send out yours, so I decided to save a little money and use the same box. That nacho thing must have been in the box as well, because I've never seen it before in my life.

Also funny that I gave that Lupin Most Wanted book to Brentai last year.

Yeah, I noticed that.  It was vaguely confusing but I decided it's not that impossible for Roger and RosenGuild to send the same manga to people.

Here's what was in the Newbian Box:

Clockwise from top left:

The Journeyman Project 3: Legacy of Time
- Sounds like an obtuse adventure game. Hours of frustration for the whole family!

d20 Enchanted Locations
- I actually need more lazy DMing crutches.  :perfect:

Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: The Official Nintendo Power Guide
- Once I get a DS and both carts, I'll be set. Gotta catch 'em all!

Big & Rich: The 8th of November: a true American story of honor
-  You can use as many subtitles as you want... in America! :america:

Apocolyptica
- Not pictured: Game Genie for Sega Genesis, Norton Antivirus 2007

Videos commanding me to get ready for Starfox 64 and Diddy Kong Racing
- I'm ready already!

The Animatrix SVCD
http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=QxOztoAOvms

A sampler CD for Windows 95 Games
- I've always wondered what YOU DON'T KNOW JACK was like.

And what's this? A note saying that there's a second package on its way? Containing 300+ magic cards?
:OoO: :goggles: :victory:

After a bit of prodding, I decided it's high time I showed off my loot. Running phatloot08.exe....

First up, Roger! Pleasedonttrapepleasedontrapepleasdo--

:victory: Fuck yes! Honestly, I've been hoping Roger'd get me eventually, because I've been dying for some Transformers.

The list:
- Darkstalkers Battle Storm: This looks delightfully excremental.
- Vampire Hunter D: Ahh, one of the first anime I'd ever seen, and at such a young age. It made me who I am today, for better or worse. A classic.
-Transformers The Battle Begins
-Genshiken manga. Apparently it's about college otaku. This... might hit too close to home.
-GI Joe comics: They still smell fresh.
-The Avengers #6: Introducing ZEMO and his masters of Evil! (Not for Resale)  :negative:
-Lobo poster
-Book of posters for various bands. Lots of hair.
-Pictures of various movie posters from around the globe. Highlights include Japanese Jurassic Park and Back to the Future posters. Also: TIBURON
-Unopened SD Gundam booster pack. Love me some Gundam.
-Inedible stuffed Peep. Er, is this what happens when you put them in the microwave?
-Zelda: LttP for SNES and Super Mario All-stars. Two games very near to my heart.
-Paper Mario for N64: Another classic. That Roger, he's a classy guy.
-McDonalds Bionicles guy. Presumably, it'll shoot my eye out.
-The, er, shark pokemon. I'm drawing a blank on its name.. I just call him: TIBURON.
-Many pokemon stickers, and a Link sticker from 4 swords. Time to Pokefy the PC.
-Cobra Commander, Destro, and... someone who I think is cold. He's got a ski mask.
-Impossibly ugly cereal box Batman, with upercutting action. I've got the Joker sitting around here somewhere...
-Rush from Megaman. He comes with rocket boots!
-Tiny blue never-stand Megaman. He's tiny, he's blue, and he will never, ever fucking stand.
-TRANSFORMERS!!!! Including Jazz, Battle Ravage, Signal Flare and Ro-tor. I am in my fucking glory here, people.
-Odds, ends, and maybe something else I've overlooked.

The robots take their rightful place at the summit of Mt. Kayma

Rush joins Tron and her never-stand Kobun over in Rockmanistan. Also, daruma.

The Cobra Crew, joined by Rocket Rush over in the Grand Dutchy of Xbox 360.

Next, a package from Envy from years gone by. All has been forgiven, friend.

Now that there is some impressive postage-fu. How could it NOT get here with that many stamps?

The list:
-A Kane & Lynch T-shirt. I'll wear it on the anniversary of the Gerstmann-gate scandal.
-Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal: a novel. Yep, this is gonna be a long, strange journey. How'd you peg me for a heathen?
- Loaded for PS1. Body bag not included, unfortunately.
-The Art of Assassin's Creed. Say what you will about the game, but Altair is pretty stylin'.
-Bleach: Shattered Soul for the Wii. I very nearly picked this game up a few times! Loves me some Bleach.
-Tiny Quickman. Rockmanistan population +1.

Great hall this year, guys. I enjoyed it! Truly, the worst dirty santa ever! I dunno how Brentai's gonna top this, short of mailing himself to me and skullfucking me on the spot. Er, please don't do that.

More Photos
Just an ordinary car.
Holy Moses, it's a robuht!
Quickman and tiny blue never-stand Megaman join the other in Rockmanistan
The ugliest Batman you will ever see.

I sure as fuck hope Clutch didn't send his shit via Fed Ex, because apparently while I was in New Jersey, a huge box came via FedEx. My building's super signed for it, but it was then stolen out of her apartment. There IS Something else it might have been, so I need Clutch to confirm yay or nay, but he hasn't been around in a couple days.

OH THE WAITING.
