OK, after a bit of inspiration thinking too much about a vague and minor aspect of a single version of BurgerTime, I've finished work on a preliminary design (and no, it's not as radical as this sentence made it sound). Go ahead and have a look-see if you'd like.
http://www.wfepodcast.com/It looks best in Firefox, but should look fine in IE as well. Haven't tested any other browsers. It's relatively lean code, I hope, with the exception of a
huge and ugly commented example on how to make an episode post like what I've done.
Some notes:
- The topic "image" (guy/thing on the left on each bar) is a 45x45 pixel image by default, and is a representative of the guest or topic at hand in each podcast.
- Crew images (blockheads on the right side of the bar) are set to 53 pixels high and 62 pixels wide by default. For the fun of it, I put a head per speaker in each podcast to indicate crowd size, with a few variations for unique flowers.
- The download button is 36 high and 88 across by default.
- Naturally, all these specifics can be altered through the style.css if we need to.
Hopefully this looks OK to everyone. That said, if there's any improvements anyone can think up, I welcome them. In fact, I encourage anyone who wants to improve on the site to edit and tweak whatever they can to make this page more awesome. I can upload the .psd files I used to make all the images if that helps, as well. I just wanted to serve as an icebreaker by getting some sort of temporary design up for starters -- I most certainly won't be offended if somebody wants to revamp it entirely to make it look less shitty. I can upload any changes anyone has, or if I'm not around, I'm sure Dohl could lend a hand in uploading anything as well.
Enjoy, and go nuts.
