As someone who frequently goes Engineer on Hoodoo to scorepump because lolrockfortress, I feel fairly confident in saying that the only reason it is so good is because people are fuckawful at coordination.

But far be it from me to suggest we remove allvoicechat, because boasting is important.

Yeah, I find those sentries are far from impregnable, so long as you actually apply some of that stratergererry stuff.

Or you could stop comedy nominating so that we can shoot for

1. plr_pipeline
2. cp_badlands
3. cp_steel
4. ctf_turbine
5. arena_sawmill
6. arena_lumberyard

instead of

1. tc_hydro
2. ctf_2fort
3. pl_hoodoo
4. cp_egypt
5. cp_steel
6. pl_badwater

Though granted a longer list or an automated scrambling list would be nicer overall.

Frankly I could definitely live with NOT playing the same six maps over and over and over. I would rather play 2fort and hydro than have the first list rigidly implemented.

I mean, when you get down to it, every map has its detractors, yet Hoodoo, Dustbowl, and others do have their redeeming qualities and can be a lot of fun.

I would also like to switch to teamchat for a while instead of brawlchat.

Hoodoo rockfort can be busted.  Of the three entries into that area, at least one of them has to willingly be only a distraction while the other tries to make the kill.

Hey, hoodoo is a good map.  Why do people hate it so much?

The second stage has some incredibly hard to kill engie farm placements  (that one that is directly over the point is nearly as bad as the hayloft in 2fort)

I THINK there is a votealltalk function that can be added

The problem is that with all the nomination-trolls we always end up with the second list and with all the map snobs we end up with the first list if the nom-trolls give it a rest. Both sides have valid pros and cons, but at the end of the day I still havn't gotten to play in Badlands more than once a week.

Let a robot do it or double the length of the list. Also like I said earlier, some of us are sportsmanly enough to play a few rounds even on a troll map. But we still lost like 2 people last night just bouncing from 2fort to egypt(where we played a few good rounds on egypt that's impossible no wai.)

And then everybody began trumpeting for Balloon Race.

And then everybody lost interest because we defaulted to Dustbowl and then Cp_Well.

Democracy just doesn't work.

Is there a way to add some kind of "map scramble" option to the poll?  The server picks the maps, but if you don't like the list you can just vote to have a new list generated.

Wacky Races!

I think the solution to all of this is Valve remaking Rock2. Complete with the flag capture killing everyone on the map who wasn't underwater/ had a magic doodad that you usually got killed for. That map would actually transfer over to TF2 perfectly in my opinion.

Yeah, I mean, I'm more than willing to play a 'bad' map now and then for the sake of variety.

pl_frontier final, koth_lighthouse (Max assumes RC 3?), cp_desertfortress and, um, billiards (Max could not find this map) :3

NOW WITH LINKS.  Let's play some Frontier tonight.

Zara, please find and link billiards.

http://www.fpsbanana.com/maps/69631 billiards

you can now nominate some extra maps, and !scramble is available.

if you don't have a map and cait didn't upload it to the server, don't whine to me.

Is !scramble for the map options, or for teams?  Because having a teamscramble option would also help prevent people RTVing solely to achieve that effect.

Is there a way to prevent RTV after a previous one?  That way you RTV, play a map, then it goes to another (preferably random) map.

Yeah, I'd say this accounts for a third to half of all the rtv's.

There is definitely a way to prevent RTV because I have seen it in action, stopping me from RTVing.

So yeah, the new maps kinda need a full server load to be interesting.

Too bad we didn't get many people to play today.

But attacking the /tg/ server was fun!
