When I'm feeling dickish and somebody asks if the team can get some class I'll say "to get a [whatever] type ',' and then [whatever number]." They stop talking after that. I have yet to get this irritated on Shadow Moses, but I haven't been playing as much as I'd like to lately.

I don't even know what you're trying to say... is that a real sentence!?

Well, for instance, if someone is bitching about how badly the team needs a medic, I would tell them to type , and then 7.

The best team is made the best by the presence of fellow brontos, though.

This is often true, but again, when there is a fair amount of brontos on each side, this is just gross. "Oh well these brontos are better so I'll roll with them!" is a bitch excuse, man. :(

Though I don't mind ending up on the bad team. I don't mind having to try and bust my ass to get anything to happen. Hell, in a way, unlike everyone here, I ENJOY being on the losing team. EXCITEMENT. Man I like shooting my buddies too! I had a laugh getting stomped by Patito today, who isn't just a bud, but one of my true, real life friends. Hell, I think all of us Long Island guys (Myself, Pat, KPG and Crouton) like blasting at each other more then we like blasting with each other. Thats part of the fun!

Man the only time I ever think I got annoyed was tonight actually after half my team left during Steel (DOOOOOOM! D:<) and only because it was like 4 against 8 and even THEN I don't think I was even that pissed.

Ya'll need to get better at having fun. Some failure and hardship should be good fun when the results don't mean a damn thing!

I have to agree with kayin, doom. Losing isn't the problem, the problem is when our friends orchestrate the lose of one side by teamstacking to one side just because Lady Angel isn't that good a rifle sniper, or because I still use sandman bat despite the health debuff.

I admit also that I take exception with the idea that someone asking for a vote scramble is the same as you team stacking to WIN WIN WIN. When people ask for a vote scramble its because they want the teams to be more even, not because they want to be on the side that's landsliding the others, or at least, when I initiate one, that's the case.

Your argument that people are being 'doomlike' by asking that we spread the talent across both sides is, at best, a misunderstanding of what you think 'being a doom about it' means. Or more likely, you trying a shoes on the other foot approach, except the shoe doesn't fit and as a matter of fact that's not even the foot you're trying to force it onto.

My favorite part of the night was double crit rocket to our faces, which wouldn't have happened if we had been on the same team. So yeah, I agree that killing each other is the best kind of fun. Though I will also admit that the fact that you went medic for like the first time ever on gorge for like a minute was pretty good teamwork in action.

Anyway, as much as I like having Doom, or any other dead ringer user on my team, I also really enjoy setting them on fire. Which reminds me, best doomlike behavior as of late, is McDohl going dohohoho when he gets backstabs as he practices his spying.

But really, you guys should really just lighten up some more.

Somebody cracks "there's Doom being a Doom" and me and three other people tell him he's an idiot because the match just started and I've been on the same team since the gate opened. It's like I've got some sort of goofy, misguided fan club.

I think that was me? But I don't actually get mad at you for switching teams, I'm honestly amused by it... which is why I joke about it. It's not some spineless passive-aggressive complaint, it really is just me saying "Oh you!".

I mean if you were the only good player we had and were always the guy carrying teams, yeah, that would irritate me, but as much as folks complain that "OMG DOOM IS OP AND NEEDS A NERF", we have lots of good players. So, LAWL whatevs.

***

I agree I like to play on a team that has good teamwork going on. But I also like to "play with the hand I was dealt", so while I do switch teams, it's generally so Starr and I can play on the same team. I'll be honest, it feels like a cop-out to me to switch to the winning team just because they're winning. "Oh, I can't play, so I'll just ride someone else's coattails to victory".

Nor do I really have fun when I'm beating up on people who are obviously less-skilled. Example: Unlike Doom, I find the small matches can often be really funny due to the weird shit that happens. On many occasions I have deliberately played solo against two players AND switched to a class I'm terrible with because that was actually balanced teams. Those have been some of the funniest games I've played.

Anyway, my choice means that hey, I'm on a lot of losing teams and sure, and sometimes that pisses me off if it goes on ALL night. But I'm not stupid enough to assume this applies to everyone - it's MY CHOICE to stay on losing teams, after all, anybody can do what Doom does. It's simply a case of what matters more to you. It matters more to me to dance with the one whut brung ya, so I gotta live with that choice.

Ok, fine. No one is spy checking. Shut up about it or change it. Don't be part of the problem.

I spent that entire rant running around as a Pyro trying to kill Doom. During the rant Doom was still backstabbing people as they walked out of the spawn because they are mysteriously deaf to the Dead Ringer noise and argararrgaghar

Okay, off topic. I understand your point - I think the problem here is that we're all getting mad at each other about a bunch of dumb shit that a bunch of pubbies do, i.e not spychecking and then ragequitting at the apex of a round because they are being dominated, or wondering how our four snipers haven't managed to kill a sentry, or somehow voting to play goddamn Hoodoo for fuck's sake I hate Hoodoo so god damn much it is such a boring shitty map and yet we still manage to vote for it fucking somehow and

Off topic again. Point is pubbies are the enemy.

I usually don't mind team stacking against pubbies, and I have have absolutely zero issue with it if they're the cocky or whiny kind.

But really, you guys should really just lighten up some more.

Yeah, who the hell has time to type steam whisper whining mid game? Geez what the hell?

Most of the time there are not enough pubbies for a whole team in TF2. Which means, whenever you're team-stacking, you're pissing off some of your own friends for your personal satisfaction while simultaneously not being a stoned college roommate.

If you insist on shoving yeoz and lady angel and, to a lesser extent, joxam and me in the losing team so you can get to hear the cute winning music again, I'll have to use some of the more radical options of the scramble mod.

Losing is fine; I'm just addicted to the illusion of having a chance (when on the losing team) and the illusion of contributing (when on the winning team). This is why I like balanced teams. Winning because my teammates included Doom, Smiler, and Niku is even more boring than losing because my opponents included Doom, Smiler, and Niku.

Also, as Zara says, it's never Brontos vs Pubbies; it's always Good Brontos vs Bad Brontos, patito, and pubbies.

I never said this. I was specifically referencing the times that the other admins will force a team-scramble mid-round. No voting at all. Typically following them losing a few rounds in a row. That's pretty "shoe on the other foot", and it fits like a charm.

I don't factor yeoz into my mental equations and I'd prefer to be on the same side as joxam and lady angel so

I'll admit that you're mostly neutral, Zara.. with a touch of McDohl. You've admin lit me on fire for dominating you as a Spy before.. a mark of honor and hilarity.

This. All you guys who love "the challenge of pulling off the hard win" must be far luckier than I, who go bat-shit insane after a bunch of chain-losses with people(pubbies and brontos alike) who cannot learn.

anyway I had an idea

I tried to do this at New Year's but I went crazy re: everybody else being a bit two-faced.

I'm going to stop team-swapping. If I ever swap teams, it's because the machine made me do it or I zoned out and went AFK and got kicked or something. There. Now no one has any excuse.

I will also always default to REDBLU when I first join the server IF ABLE because I prefer the number 3 to the number 4.

Why do people care about Doom so much? He's terrible. I mean he can't even turret jump properly.

There's really no person I fear on Shadow Moses other than perhaps Smiler when he is playing a Scout and if that is really bugging me, I can just switch to an anti-scout class like Heavy or Engineer and kill him 9 times out of 10 anyway until he switches classes or stops bugging me. Then I go back to Demoman or Soldier.

Is there anyway to setup a constant scramble that keeps switching dead people?

Yeah, I think it speaks more about how bad people are at spy-checking, or how easily they let themselves get sidetracked (I mean COME ON, the guy's posted his whole strategy on here multiple times). He still gets me sometimes, but I'm not really worried about the Doom spy machine myself. He's a good spy, but smiler is just as good a scout, patito a soldier, you a demoman, niku a sniper, etc. We have lots of good players.

Once I figured out what his TF2 scent was his, it got a lot easier. :america:

Personally I rarely notice Doom is playing as a spy. I notice a lot of the less respectable spies more, likely because they all hate me. I mean, he'll kill me (probably because I did something dumb), while Dohl or Envy will outright try and track me down as some sort of vengeance! In a way I guess that is really spy like!

Really the only reason I am busting on Doom is both because I would groan at the behavior from anyone (and the pub makes it easy to notice whenever he does it), and the fact that it is Doom.

Even though I haven't really been friends with Doom in years, I expect a certain amount of manliness out of him. Despite rarely if ever speaking to him now, I feel a strange obligation to kick him in the ass if he's acting like a chump. Gotta stay classy!

Anyway, Doom saying he's going to try not to switch sounds quite fine to me.

Also yeah, scout Smiler is the only thing that scares me. Not to sound like I'm saying I'm super good ro anything, but generally when someone seems better then me, I just quietly acknowledge it and try to go about making them kill me less. When Smiler is scouting though he like, flat out counters me. We always seem to end up in the same places too.

Granted I also find Smiler scouting on the other team to be EXCITING. A little fear is fun!
