The 2% chance to break up a stacked team doesn't hold a candle to the 50% team to create or reinforce a stacked team.  ::(:

With or without it we are going to be unhappy about teams. Yay for sourcemod plugins.

I kinda have the feeling that a simple honor system would work better than any scrambling whatsoever.  If one team is stomping the other a reasonable player should switch sides?  The only things stopping this would be people having an over (or under) inflated position of their own skill... or refusing to be fair?  That'd suck.

An admin could give forum members and regulars immunity from auto-balance. If some people refuse to play fair and stack the team on purpose, then the entire server (minus pubbies) would switch to one team and it wouldn't be fun for the jerkwads anymore (this building off Makaris's idea).

.
The plugin was placed because it was mostly us team stacking against pubbies. And that is why I think the plugin is still a good idea, even if it occasionally ruins any balance, since there was no balance at all before.

Granted there are far more of us now for any team stacking to occur, and the third round auto scramble still really sucks.

Immunity from auto balance is also a bad idea, and I don't think everybody is gonna team switch just for one person, that's way too much effort for something that doesn't really matter, or some people will simply not go along with it.

The plugin was placed because Zara and me had a fight about me abusing auto-balance.

I'd be up for a manual scramble option whether via vote or careful admin judgement. But the automated scrambling is just RNG bullshit and occurs so infrequently that you can still do the manual bullshit.

For whatever it's worth from someone more or less still "on the outside" as it were, the scrambler doesn't seem to be terribly effective.  Even the pregame scramble, particularly noble as it is, is neutered by the fact that people can just wait until after and then join the team they like.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I always hop in right away with random team.  Is there a way to force random team (assuming of course both sides have even players)?  Would that even be desirable?  I can think of several reasons why it wouldn't, but if it hasn't been put forth or considered, I might as well.

I think perhaps we need to find just a different plugin.

We could also stop giving a shit about people switching teams. I don't think half as many people would care about doom switching teams if he wasn't such a magnificent Spy.

I stopped switching teams a month ago so all that's left is for everybody else to grow up?

 :nyoro~n:

Also, I dare say that Niku now has about as much impact on a Team as Doom does, with our other players following behind, some close in influence, others not so much (i.e. me).

Okay, yeah, it's been a while, but when I STARTED playing Doomy was better than y'alls.

Of course you can always argue that this means YOU'RE IMPROVING FASTER THAN DOOM, but I say you guys should settle it THUNDERDOME-style for our amusement.

Oh man, some kind of Shadow Moses Thunderdome would be gassy. Not regularly, but as long as we could all spectate live a one-time event could be pretty damned funny.
