The "player who killed you is about to get killed" screenshots are always my favorite.

I didn't win any sniper duels last night, but I did manage a stalemate (hit the other fellow once, made him run), which is a huge improvement on my previous outings.

I've been playing scout more often since the scout pack (DURRRR), though that's mostly on CP maps like Granary or Badlands. But I've been wanting to try and balance my playtimes a little more (Been in an engie/soldier/pyro rut) and also I'm one achievement away from both the KGB and the Kritzkreig.

Last night, I played a lot more of classes that I haven't been playing much and did half-decently well, so no complaints. I did have two questions that came to mind:

1 - What are your best tips for Demoman? I really want to be better with this class. In other games I've been amazing with indirect fire weapons (I used to be KING SHIT with the flak cannon in UT, though that's an easier weapon to use). And the Demoman's design flavour and playstyle (hang back, pick targets, troll people, issue loads of indiscriminate justice) should really mesh with the way I like to play when I'm not going BER-ZER-KER. But all I can seem to manage is utter mediocrity on a good day. I think it's just a matter of practice (he is after all, my third-least played class, after sniper and SPAH), but advice can't hurt.

2 - So what do you guys usually have your mouse sensitivity set to? I think mine's around 13-15. I've been training myself to use high-sensitivity for years both for faster reaction times in FPSes and to reduce Carpal Tunnel dangers in everyday use and it's worked well, but I do have an uppper limit and that seems to be about it (at this speed I already lose some fine snap-targeting ability, but the tradeoff is still worth it).

Sometimes pyros forget there was once a flame thrower with the poofer on it.  It's strange, I have all the pyro gear and I like the originals more.  Sometimes the flare gun is fun, but the shotgun has more practical use.

It's amusing how you can clear a bottleneck full of deployed ubercharges with poofing.  Now if it could only move sentries, teleporters, and dispensers.

Only the axetinguisher is a straight up replacement for me. It's only worst against other pyros, and you shouldn't melee them anyway.

Also Bal, I will try to be better at medic.  There were a few deaths last night that were totally preventable, because I had this bizarre feeling that I should heal other people.  I will now only heal people who are not total failures, preferably people who can do homicidal frenzies deep into enemy spawn (read: BAL).

Sniper duel

Didn't even think to fire over onto the opposing building's windows on Well, until an enemy Sniper nailed me through the noggin' from such a vantage point.

And here's a majorly bullshit position on Goldrush 3:

Chump was head shotting right into the spawn too.

Sometimes pyros forget there was once a flame thrower with the poofer on it.

Switched back last week to toss some scoots off ledges on Arena_Watchtower. I must have been only W + M1ing before acquiring the the W + M1burner, as I had yet to ever sample the glories of rendering ubers into all but comical farces.

I'm a bit addicted, as now I'm even poofing soldiers and demomen.

Lastly, a painful lesson:

Poofing soldier rockets and whatever demoperson throws at you is great.  I still have yet to figure out if I can poof sentry rockets, or if they are simply too fast for me to time the poof properly.

What kills me is that reflecting a rocket back at a person somehow doesn't count as a revenge kill.  Come on now.

And yes you can poof sentry rockets, the problem is that doesn't help against the dual chainguns that are shooting you while you do it.  Might help if some wacky Medic gave you an uber and expects you to charge headfirst into sentryfire.

KERBALANCE!

::D: Oh boy, I'm setting Brentai ablaze!

An earlier bout on Gold Rush two hours beforehand was even more fulfilling. Steamrolled through as BLU, and yet somehow the same team as RED lost the following two maps during the final thirty seconds. Just as BLU rolled into the final terminus on the final map, I sapped their teleporter entrances. Five times. Over the course of seven minutes. Max mopped them up at the terminus, while I smoked away in the shadows.

The pyro that eventually fried me was so jubilant that he victoriously taunted five seconds before time ran out.

Sorry for team stacking and clearing out our own god damn server. Those were some good games until the very last one.

It is no mere wrench.  It is a religion.  Our wrenches speak to us and we obey the will of the Great Wrench.  Our wrenches we carry are but mere tribute to his true glory.  He gives us teleporters, so that we may guide the masses to the destination, he gives us sentries to spread his wrath and let it be known to our enemies, and he gives us dispensers so that we may know he is merciful and understanding of our cause.  He does this because our cause is right and just.  One day The Tightening will come as the Great Wrench tightens the nut on the bolt that is our universe and it finally grinds firm, ceasing all movement in the galaxy as we know it.  On that day he will tell us our work is done and we will have achieved paradise.

The Great Wrench is a path of work and fury.  You non-believers can go rely on your 'medics', your 'ammo packs', and your 'heavies'.  While I do not doubt your methods work, know that without the legions of the Great Wrench your duties would be MUCH harder.

Good day gentlemen.

The path of the grenadier stands in sharp contrast to your pitiful mechanical abominations. Complete chaos is what we must really strive for. Grenades flying and rolling on all sides and on all places, glittering orbs bringing terror to all who see them. And the gift of flight which is given to us for the sacrifice of a mere third of our our life forces. This are truly the things which everyone should follow.
