Telegraphs it to who? People who've already read the series and knows how it ends? Or the people who haven't read it yet, like me, and have no clue what you're talking about?

When you get maybe halfway through the movie - which would still be too early - you'll get it.

If you're not familiar with the book, and only know about the plot from the trailers and whatnot, that line is fairly ambiguous.

Anyway, I think we're overlooking the really important part of that poster:

If you happen to have a copy of the poster in your lap at the time? I really don't see this being a problem, because if you're not thinking about how fucking awesome this movie is halfway through, then there's no saving it.

I guess DNi wouldn't want to know about the subplot of Dr. Manhattan and Night Owl being in love, then.  I'm not sure how canon it is, though,  as Moore seemed to make a lot of spelling mistakes and it had no pictures.

"I thouhgt you would like this," said Dr. Manhatan as eh split into seven or eight of himself.

"FUCK YES" shouted Night Owl who preceded to roll around on a bed of blue dicks

I never actually liked the Squid. It was sort of goofy and distracted  from the rest of the ending. Some of the stuff I heard, like Ozzymandias convincing Dr. Manhattan to explode in the middle of New York is stupid though. Theres a difference between adapting the ending to be a little less goofy and just flat out changing the ending.

Character posters.  I like them, except Silk Spectre's.

The only one I don't particularly like is the Comedian's, and only because it doesn't look very much like he's actually holding down the feed on that flamethrower. Maybe he's kind of halfassedly caressing it with his thumb, but it's the kind of thing that would bug my shit right out if I had it on my wall.

It doesn't even have a pilot light.

The power line for the pilot light seems to end behind his ring finger. Bizarre.

It doesn't even have a pilot light.

That's because it's a gas torch, not a flamethrower.  Also, you wouldn't try to light a cigar with a flamethrower because jellied gasoline tastes funky and also is very toxic and you'd die.   :serious:

New trailer.

They call themselves "The Watchmen" in it.   ::(:

Other than that, I like it!

I really hope that Rorshach's line is actually complete in the film and just edited for the trailer.

the one about whores and politicians drowning in semen and Rorshach standing over them going "How do I broke finger?"

Or something. It's been a while since I've read the book.

I'm with Shark: the open malice in Rorschach's voice is not nearly as cool as if he just said his lines in a flat, matter-of-fact monotone.

Con: if they're referred to as "The Watchmen" the whole movie, I'm just enough of a nerd to get annoyed.

Meh: Monotone Rorschach could totally have been better, but his voice isn't terrible.

I'd always imagined Dr. Manhattan with more of a Martian Manhunter-like voice.

I'm not at all familiar with the comic version of the Manhunter but I would not be surprised if the DCAU version was heavily influenced by the Martian Manhattan, in the same way the Question was patterned after Rorschach.
