Well, your first name is Scott...

I actually forget that too, sometimes.

Nah, it's mostly just nobody ever using it.

Just had about an hour where everything smelled like chocolate cake.
Usually when I have this problem, it involves dog poop.
Savor the flavors man.
I suspect it is just strong memories getting in the way of immediate perceptions though.

For several months now, whenever I think about my age my first reflex is to think I'm 32. I'm actually 31 until next March.

Man, Groundhog's Year sucks, there's no way I'm memorizing all that stuff for the next loop.

Yesterday, my computer was suffering from CRITICAL HARD DRIVE FAILURE. It could barely boot, let alone run long enough for me to get some additional files to the backup drive.

Last night, Windows Installed Updates. And now.. now it's running (sort-of) fine. Not going to run any games on it right now, but I can browse the web smoothly, backup some files and have access to my media files.

The office Christmas party was in a pub. The pub TVs had some kind of TSN stuff on, with the sound off. However, TSN decided that they were going to show some kind of retrospective documentary of the Ole' Miss football team during the Civil Rights era. So our office Christmas party was surrounded by silent images of KKK guys burning crosses and men being hung for like half an hour.

Common enough on platter drives; they have a tendency to fail gradually and unevenly.

Things are going to get interesting in the coming years as SSD's become more prevalent -- when they fail, they fail all at once.

Around 9:00, my neighbor in the next apartment over had some sort of horrific cooking accident resulting in a pot full of hot oil falling on his kitchen floor, scorching it and generating a lot of smoke. The fiancee and I went outside and debated calling the fire department when we found out there was no actual flame, just a smoky breezeway.

Around 10:30, someone is banging on our door demanding we leave, since there's a fire in the building.

Around 10:35, standing outside at night in the middle of January in Denver, Colorado with hastily-donned clothing and no coat on, holding my pet rats in an exercise ball, I realize that someone upstairs called the fire department about the smoke, and there's no actual emergency.

Around 11:00, the fire department verifies that this is the case and we are allowed back into the building. We quickly discover that after we evacuated as we were told, the fire department kicked in our door for some godforsaken reason. It wasn't even locked. Now the doorknob doesn't work, but the maintenance guy is totally on his way you guys.

It's now 11:30. We just got back into the apartment. The maintenance tech immediately went to town on our deadbolt with a power drill, thus breaking the part of the door mechanism that still worked. He eventually jimmied the door open with a crowbar, a chisel, and a hammer to let us in, and is now working to repair the damage he himself did.

What a night. Time for lots of beer.

Huh. There was a kitchen fire on a floor of our building too tonight, though not half so "entertaining".

Utility ducks are known to carry a certain brand of heavy-duty tape. I forget the name though.

When a cute international student of another college in town from China gives you her number and proceeds to go out with you with one of her friends things look pretty good. When she agrees to see you again and appear to jump with joy when you kiss her hand things look pretty promising.

then you try to text her a few days latter and get no response, you wonder if your phone's broken after sending another text with no response two days later until her friend sends a long message saying that your bothering her, she's changing contact numbers because of you, and "BTW I think she likes girls".
