Never mind wasting plastic. If I use full size plastic baggies, I'll be wasting 2/3rds of my storage space on crumpled polyethylene.

Protip: Jewelry and craft supplies stores (like Michael's or Hobby Lobby) always have various sizes of small zip bags.

That's what I figured (for beads and stuff), but the two I checked in my neighbourhood didn't.

Apparently Mongrel lives in the part of Toronto that doesn't subscribe to notions of common sense. They call it the Rob Ford district.  :whoops:

That reminds me though, I saw an ad for one of those nutribar-type things on a city bus today, with the following tagline:

"Mayors of Canada! We can't help you with your waste problem, be we can help you with your waist problem!"

:whoops:

For the confused:
It's actually a very specific jab at Ford and his grandiose pronunciations. And also the fact that he's making a public show of trying to lose weight (which he's failing completely)
This could go in Good Times too, because it was pretty funny.

I was sitting around eating lunch when my cellphone rings. My cellphone # is pretty awesome, so I get a *lot* of wrong number calls (I complained that none of my phone calls are good, but not *all* of them are bad). I figured this would be one of those because it was some random US area code.

Me: Hello?
Playfully sultry young woman: Hi therrre.
Me: Hi, who is this?
Young woman: Uh, wrongnumberbye.

Someone else's booty call: INTERRUPTED.

Went to work with $3 in my pocket. Made $4 in tips. Walked out with $22.
I have no idea where the other money came from. It was just there, in my pocket. They counted the money and all that and everything was balanced. Customers paid with credit cards so I didn't give anyone change which means I didn't give wrong amount of change.

GUYS. GUYS. I GUESS I'M A WIZARD NOW.

I've had days where I've completely missed or mis-read the value of my wallet contents.

...
I can't conceive of how this one came about though.
Maybe you got bribed by someone for special considerations in the future?

According to this automatic plagiarism checker, my latest school paper is 4% ripped off from a Q&A site, 3% from Wikipedia, 1% from an instruction manual for the mainframe system I was writing on and 1% from a My Little Pony fan forum.

On the subject of unspeakably Freudian things... last night I was painting a new miniature, my new goal was to try and do a good approximation of sort-of Mediterranean olive skin, which is tough. I finished and left it.

This morning I looked at the figure and the face looked exactly like pictures of my mother when she was young.

CREEPY.

... I blame the sculptor.

I think if you're working with hundreds of little statues the chances that one will resemble someone you know are not that bad.

Well, my first attempt on the figure ended in failure, so I stripped the paint off with acetone and tried again. The first time around she just looked white and didn't remind me of anyone. It was the specific combination of skin tone and facial features.

I guess that means I did a good job painting the skin, I guess?

So, this morning, a little after I left for work Starr was awoken by a loud bang.

It turned out that the rear tire on her bicycle had just... exploded.

The bike rack (we have a small rack for 2 bikes in our apartment) is not near a heat source or other energy source, the bike had not been ridden or moved in well over 12 hours, no recent maintenance had been done on the bike, there were no sharp objects found on or near the tire, and even if there had been, it was secure in the rack and would not have moved.

BIKE POLTERGEIST. OOOOOOOOO.

Seen today by two coworkers: A drunk, visibly homeless, asian guy, wandering into stores at random downtown, waving a war-of-1812 replica musket, trying to sell said musket.

Yeeeahhhhh the cops showed up pretty quickly.

My underwear got caught on the door handle and it tore a hole in them. :(

I once nearly strangled myself with my bra in a similar incident.

Yes, I was wearing it normally (I didn't have a shirt on) and no, I have no idea how it managed to snag on the door so that it tore, and then wrapped around my neck. My forward momentum was pretty good, because I was sort of half running to the bathroom having to pee really bad.

Seriously, I have no idea how it happened. I actually sat down and tried to figure it out, afterward.
