I'd like that statistics website more if it had some statistics that were meaningful.  It should control for hours played.....or just look at the kills:deaths ratio or something.

WHO KNEW
It's really easy to set up 'sv_downloadurl' so that no one needs to download from another source. With the way it's currently set up the server loses half the people playing on it when it switches maps.

EDIT: In fact some maps do download from the server but some are not setup correctly. I just downloaded pacman fine.

The thing is: map downloads do not work from the server itself. We have to host map downloads at a separate URL from the server. If a map is uploaded to the server and not the maphosting, it can't be downloaded. This is what happened while I was gone!

... You can arrange it by playtime, and by kills to playtime ratio.

Kills to playtime ratio isn't the same as kills: deaths.  Playtime is a stupid way to measure who's the best since it doesn't indicate a god damn thing except that you have more time to play the game than others.

You're right.

By number of hats collected then? Their drop rate must be equal to that of shiny pokkomanns.

I just don't like the way any statistics are compiled ever
 ::(:

...Actually, I guess I sorta like score per minute, except that I think it should be kills per minute.  You can easily bump your score up far higher than it should be by doing stupid things like sitting on empty servers and capturing points over and over so I find that to be fairly misleading.

Your odds of a shiny are 1/8192.  So I have better odds of finding a hat if my odds are .33%

right but the only server that would matter in this case would be shadow moses.

and we could all see you being sad and lonely if you were point farming on it.

Niku, but someone could do that alone while no one else was online.  I'm just saying it's an easy way to abuse a stupid system that uses points for rank instead of kills.

Okay uh yeah but their inflated score would still be inflated anyway? You're missing Niku's entire point.

LD, tracking kills rather than points is stupid, because KILLS ARE NOT THE ONLY IMPORTANT PART OF THE GAME. Maybe you'd know that if you ever played anything other than pyro? Because you know, engineers and medics and spies kind of thrive off points more than kills. Sure, they all get kills, but that isn't the point behind them. I repeat: maybe you'd know that if you ever played anything other than the easiest class to play?

Just sort the damned list by kills per hour (or whatever you need to do) and stop complaining. It's unbecoming.

I was just saying I wish they had an option for kills per minute (which I would include assists and destructions in) instead of just points per minute because it's an easy-to-abuse system.  Fuck off.

Well it looked like you thought the current system was retarded and then proposed a worse system that doesn't fit the game very well. Sorry! Next time I won't just post without thinking.
