:stantastic:

downloading.

EDIT:
Huh, Stan Lee wasn't the only cameo.  There's something I never expected to see in a random saturday morning cartoon, much less one about Spider-man.

Name drop of the week: Miles Warren.

Kinda surprised they hit the ground running with this one as much as they did, but I like the fact that it feels much more like episode 14 than it does episode 1 of season 2.  It really helps the continuity.

...pretty sure Warren's name's come up before, but I could be mistaken.

Anyway!  Downloading now!  GJ, Rosen.

Ah, there are TWO Warrens.  That explains it.

...Anyway.  Have I mentioned lately that I love this show?

Mysterio was just wonderful.  Loved the Dr. Strange vibe, and the "man behind the curtain" shot looked like the early Ditko issues where Goblin would appear with his face unmasked but shadowed and unseen.

More Gargoyles alums in the voice cast, too; that's Thom "Lexington" Adcox as Tinkerer.

And of course I'd be remiss not to mention the
saloon
fight scene, which had me laughing out loud.  I love the zany locales for fights in this show.

Great stuff.  Can't wait for more; glad I didn't have to wait 'til March for this one.

It might have been me reading too much into things that
his realizing they were robots in that setting was a nod to Westworld.
Maybe.  Though there was a pretty clear Ghostbusters 2 ref in there, with the illusory train -- AND Peter MacNicol doing a voice.

Here's episode 2, featuring Kraven. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet, though.

I'd say it's an average ep for this show, but that still makes it pretty great.  Kraven's tons of fun, and there's a neat twist that ties nicely into the
Jackal
foreshadowing.

And speaking of great locales for fight scenes?  The
Museum of Natural History
, bitches.

I like how even in the episodes where not much happens beyond the big brawl(s), the way they keep the locations varied and the choreography snappy (the tire yard fight scene was pretty awesome) keeps the show humming right along.  Also how when he has to quickly dispatch several villains, they manage to keep the baddies from looking impotent by being felled in quick succession.  They all get their licks in well enough to keep them as credible of threats as you can expect the bad guys in a saturday morning cartoon to be.

Name drop of the week: Cletus.

So apparently the show's crew was laid off, but they may or may not return for a third season. Well... at least they finished season 2 first...  :;_;:

Yeah, Kids WB folded in the wake of the merger and the future of the show's up in the air.  Disney's picked it up and may go for a third season, but...well, we all know what happened the LAST time Disney took the reins of a successful Greg Weisman series in its third season.

(For those who haven't followed the link, there's some interesting news on upcoming Gargoyles trades, too.  I've been meaning to pick some of those up but haven't finished watching the TV series yet.  I mean, season two.)
