Last week's was great; really played MJ and Goblin both much better than the movie(s) did. MJ's the coolest kid in the room, and Goblin's out of his damn mind, and Spidey makes fun of him rather than be frightened by his ridiculous costume. Hell, we've even got hints of Harry's drug problem, albeit in a Saturday morning cartoon-appropriate form. Tombstone's observation at the end that Spidey could have done the exact same thing and gotten a paycheck for it is vintage Parker luck. Tombstone, meanwhile, still feels like he's only there because they couldn't get the rights to Kingpin. (Which I'm seeing alleged on various messageboards but not from any primary sources. He WAS on the MTV Spidey series, complete with Michael Clark Duncan as his voice, so it's hard to understand why he'd be off-limits NOW, but if there's one thing I've learned from Bruce Timm's comments on the Bat-embargo of JLU, it's that suits' decisions on which characters are off-limits are rarely based on anything resembling logic.)
Also, I didn't notice his voice change at the time, though I DO recall thinking, a few eps in, "Hey, that's KMR, didn't notice that before." Didn't notice before because in the first few eps it was Keith David -- another Gargoyles link.
Haven't found today's ep yet. Anybody have a copy?
