I'm not sure whether you mean locales, or the actual layouts of maps.

So anyway here's an idea that has both;  How about a level where the player is trying to climb, and at the same time, descend, a tower/spire/some sort of gigantic monolith thing.  Where you have to get to the top of one version of the world to get the bottom of another, and between the two extremes of vertical ascension/escape, the level is slanted, or even spinning.

From the description I thought it would actually be a free-rotating thing, but apparently you can only rotate in 90 degree turns.  Meh.  If you need me I'll be playing On the Ball.

Your best bet is $10 with a $5 opening-weekend/preorder sale. AaaaaAAaaaAAAaaAAAAaAAAAA!!! -- A Reckless Disregard for Gravity went with this approach -- putting the game on the market with a price well within impulse-buy range (and with a time-limit to make impulsive buys even more likely), with a slightly elevated price afterwards for people who found out about it from friends of friends.

Right now, $15 is indie-game suicide. VVVVVV has been getting a lot of flak for being $15 (instead of $5, for example); because it's a short game with a retro look, people think it somehow took significantly less time and effort on the part of the developer to produce than a game that looks better and plays longer, like Braid -- which also got shat on for being $15 (instead of $10, for example).

Oh snap!

I don't know if I'll ever finish BW2. It's buggy and it's shit and I don't want to do the voices and I don't even know how to finish it. I thought maybe instead of fighting the last boss, you just enter its room and he's crying because his kid has cancer and then the game ends awkwardly.
