For the first time in a long while, my mother did my laundry for me, which is something I try to discourage.
This time she washed my pokewalker. Damn thing won't turn on now. My spiky-eared pichu was on that.  I can get it back but I have to wait and see on the walker. Might have to get a new one.

Take it apart and let it dry for a few days before trying to turn it on. May want to try a new battery too.

A ziplock bag of rice.  Put the pokewalker in with the rice and leave it to sit for a day.  Might fix it, might not.  No guarantees.

The important thing with wet electronics is that your impulse to turn them on and see if they still work is absolutely wrong. Though laundry soap instead of pure water lowers the odds.

It works again. I lost the pikachu I catpured as well as my items. But I retained all of my watts and my pichu. So that's a relief.

Bulbapedia says you need to save the equivalent of two million footsteps to unlock all the routes. That's about 1,000 miles. You can get Spiritomb, though.

Caught a flying Pikachu on the walker. I get the feeling he's not as useful as surfing.

All the benefit of flying without the weakness?
Seems useful to me  :nyoro~n:

Of course, I have delibird so I am content with my flying (Until they let bug/flying types learn fly)

If Doduo can fly, why can't Pikauchu?

This is the canonical reason, in fact.

So, uh... Pokemon race wars?

Fly's weak on Pikachu. It's a physical attack and Pikachu has a weak Attack stat. It's useful to have a Flying attack versus Grass opponents but the opponent can always switch out. It's maybe useful for a HM slave - Pikachu can also learn Rock Smash and Strength (somehow), plus Thunder Wave for capturing wild Pokemon.

Surfing Pikachu is much more useful. It uses the Special Attack stat, deals serious damage to the Rock/Ground types that are Pikachu's greatest danger, and has no charge-up time. Also, it's hilarious to surf on a Pikachu.
