I caught it straight from the wilderness.  It is relaxed nature with chlorophyll or whatever, the hidden ability is garbage anyway.

Phew.  Got rid of my shiny weepinbell....for a shiny seaking.  Mostly so I can say FUCK YEAH seaking, and then I shall forever think about my shiny seaking.  Lame? Sure.  Better than weepinbell?  Definitely.

No, but expect me with some weird things for trade I imagine.  Since pokemon bank comes out next week, I'll be transferring my something-like-300 shiny pokemon.  SO many things to trade fodder.  Also, just by chance, many of the things I ended up chaining were excellent for this gen because they have mega-evolutions :3 (snover, meditite, houndour, electrike, mareep, larvitar, pinsir, ralts, and aron)

Due to ongoing server overcapacity, they've delayed the release of Pokemon Bank until "TBD." However, some lucky Japanese managed to use Poke Transporter while it was out and usable in their country, and as a result, every pokemon is now available. If you get a Bank-only one via Wonder Trade, you can probably get any other (breedable) one via GTS. Wonder trade the rest - make somebody's day with a really rare 'em.

I got Totodile, Piplup, Koffing, and Yamask, and expect to have Darumaka soon.

Unbelievably dumb bullshit by Nintendo.  "We are too dumb to have enough servers to supply the demand of pokemon users" is essentially what happened.  This is why they are losing money.  They just don't care and have no foresight.  F- Nintendo.  And they didn't solve the hacking problem, because you can still trade hacked things and transfer them as long as they LOOK legit code-wise.  Just horrible.  Very disappointing.

If you see me online, send me a trade request and I'll send you something Bank-exclusive. Dump it on GTS (Deposit, not Seek!) and you can get the rest.

There's not enough physical rackspace in the world to deal with the load they were being hit with. And no, it wasn't just pokemon people. Kids were opening new Wii Us and 3DSs and trying to validate them online & download games. Between those two and the bank, they saw the bank as the thing they could take down with the least reprecussions.

Calm your tits, girl.

I'm probably misreading this particular complaint, but... if the code is legit how the hell is any software supposed to tell it's not?

There are fans who are more obsessive about accuracy than Game Freak themselves, who have powerful incentives to tolerate harmless edge cases. There are some inconsequentially impossible pokemon that pass the filter - things like unreleased event pokemon or pokemon caught in the wrong ball - but this seems moot because apparently a pokemon has to have the mark indicating it was caught (or hatched) in gen 6 in order to be legal for anything that matters?

My theory is that essentially it checks individual values, while ignoring if the combination of those values is legit.

For example, the Italian Iron Fist Infernape that is attached to this story

Wal-Mart in the US had a special promotion - an Infernape with the Hidden Ability, Iron Fist, which was the only way to obtain such an ability on Infernape.
In Italian Pokemon, it is possible to have an Infernape.
Premier Ball is a legal ball for Infernape to appear in.

Each of these three variables are legal, but A & B conflict, and A & C conflict - and yet the game doesn't check that. A Wondertomb would probably be rejected, as would a Bidoof knowing Aeroblast & Sacred Fire.

There's also the possibility that gamefreak might want to release an italian infernape with iron fist in a premier ball, or any other possible number of promotional combination in the future and they don't feel having a white list is worthwhile.

That would be easily dealt with by attaching some special Gen6 only ribbon to promo pokemon that the game checks before all else - as of now, there's no way to hack pokemon into Gen6 directly. You have to dump it into Gen4 or 5, then pass to 6.

But yes, the point of "Wanting to leave the door open for our own promo combinations in the future" is also likely.

On a related topic, I'd really like Pokemon to either make some move combos more available or completely restrict them. There are a couple of my favorite 'mons I'd like to use but some of their better movesets are only available from chain-trading up from 3rd or 4th generation or something. Which is doable because Internet, but also pretty dumb.

It would be nice if Pokemon Z had enough move trainers to make it so you only needed Gen 5 & Gen 6 to cover everything and you could fully cut lose the chains of your previous carts.

I'd say "lol nintendo" but B2W2 had a rather staggering amount of stuff in that vein. Shame BW itself was so godawful boring.
