They're going to try to take the thing all the way up mount Everest?  It looks like you should put a third color in your legend for "Frozen to death."

NYT: The Chinese government says it has evidence that the Dalai Lama incited the riots of two weeks ago, but that you can't see it and will just have to take the Chinese government's word for it.

More protests scheduled for tomorrow, in Tiananmen Square, where no previous protests against the Chinese government have ever occurred; just ask the Chinese government.

The Chinese consulate in Vancouver was ruthlessly on the defensive this week.  While I do not have articles at hand, I will point out that they seem to be more wishy-washy by the second.

Fair enough.

Otherwise, witness accounts say that the square was packed with school children, and the nearby subway station was closed for the day.  Not surprising considering that Beijing is the host city of the Olympics.

I can't find the article now, but did you see the bit about the Chinese ambassador to Canada comparing Tibetans to the Nazis?

Invocation of Godwin's law in real life is always, uh, yeah. :hurr:

I heard about it.  That being said, I don't think the two organizations ever had any other relation apart from the symbol..

You know what the best part of that was?  The news article loaded before anything else on the page did for me.

Fuckin' A. I was just coming to post that.

Side note: According to the legend above, Athens is keeping some pretty hilarious company so far.

This is like an Olympic competition in itself.

C'mon San Fran. Take home the gold.
