It barely got up to 80 most of summer, but now that it's nearly October we're set to crack 100 degrees four days in a row. fuuuuuck

I went outside to stretch out for a bit, then immediately turned around and went back inside.  I'm familiar enough with dry heat to know when it's dangerous to be out in it for any amount of time.

So last week we had highs around 90 -- not terrible but just hot enough to be uncomfortable -- and this week we have highs around 70 -- not terrible but just cool enough to be uncomfortable.

So, you know, that's cool.  We just completely bypassed the nice weather this year.

Same here.  At least we're finally getting object lessons in what global warming actually means (the world's not necessarily getting warmer, it's just regulating temperature about as well as a 55 year old woman).

highs around 70

It looks like perfect weather for me this week.
As far as I'm concerned, global warming is great.

Mongrel, Mongrel. Remember what the weather was like when I visited last? And how you and Starr had to ride home on your motorcycle? Well, can you imagine riding home on a bicycle in weather like that?

See this?

This is not what Christmas Day in Atlantic Canada is supposed to look like.
That brown pile in the middle there? That's the snow. All of the snow.
It's actually been raining all week. Part of the town flooded a few days back.

All those political cartoonists who do not understand the concept of climate change can go suck it.

We had a rainy Christmas in Texas this year.

Which is fine, as it ended a long drought and we had a Dallas suburb that was on fire due to the dry weather.

I put on corduroys yesterday morning.

Then they were too fucking hot so I switched to shorts.

We are having gorgeous outdoor weather.  The trouble is we aren't having gorgeous outdoor air quality.

How in the hell does the American South get more snow than Atlantic Canada on Christmas?

Uh, speaking of that, Atlantic Canada got a monster snowstorm that started yesterday and has left 400,000 people without power.

So you can hold off on the climate change jokes for a bit yet. And it might be a little while before Teg posts again.

I actually got off work today because the store closed early. That never happens.

The store closed specifically because there's only one cab running today.

Let me reiterate in case that wasn't clear: there is one cab running. Not one cab company. One cab. There is only one guy in the entire city willing to drive people around in this storm.

...And he's probably making mad scratch.
