We've been floating around there in Oklahoma for a while now too. I don't know about you, Thad, but I'm ready for six months of ridiculous electric bills and utter fucking misery every time i step out the god damn door.

The other day I saw a satellite image of the smoke from one of the wildfires covering a pretty damn big wedge north of Denver.

I got BongoBill on IRC and doublechecked he could, you know, breathe.

Apparently there are three wildfires here in California but it's California.  Nobody even notices that shit.

Yeah, we got those, too.

The warehouse fire was a little more immediate.  As in four, five miles from my house.

It's not 113 here, but it counts as a heatwave for us and ohhhh the mug (it's 90, or 110 with the humidity).

There was just enough breeze that it wasn't horribly unbearable though.

We're also supposed to get three days straight worth of thunderstorms.

Should be interesting.

So basically my entire state is on fire. I moved to Colorado from Ohio one year ago, so everybody I know, I met at college, which means they all live in Colorado Springs. Everyone I know in this state is either evacuated or told to be prepared to evacuate, places I have been have burned or are at risk of burning. This sucks :/

How can we have a drought on a freshwater peninsula? Can't we just splash it over the edges?

But wait.... Thunderstorm!!!  :8D:

Yeah I was out in the sun at the meaninglessly named bluesfest here in Ottawa yesturday. It was the electronica heavy day so I saw Tokimonsta spin some stuff and then Koan Sound played a really great show. Heh, the one guy looked like Tom Cruise in Risky Business with his wayfarers on.

Also, there was this super young really dark skinned black teenager wearing a tupac shirt, a black chicago bulls baseball cap and big black plastic as fuck wayfarers and he was probably rockin' a wicked fade too. He was like early 90s man even though he must have been about 5 then. Hahah, he was the bomb.

Anyway, the weather, it was so fucking hot, I wished I'd brought my straw sombrero, but I didn't wanna be that tall lanky asshole with the big hat in front, so I just loaded up on the sun block. None the less, after Koan Sound was done Andrea was pretty much melting. I mean, it was an Ottawa crowd, so that means about 60% of the people there weren't dancing and only about 20% were dancing with any feeling and then like 10% of people were sitting on folding chairs. Oh Ottawa, "If you aren't the best band who's ever lived we refuse to have a good time." But we were dancing the whole time.

Then Diplo came on and he.... sucked, really hard. So we ended up actually just leaving and having naps before coming back in the evening to see Scrillex. Even in the dark it was still pretty fucking boiling. At least people were fucking dancing though... MOST PEOPLE. Fuckin' Ottawa crowds.

It's like the devil's asshole out there right now. There are these sporadic little spatters that tease us while the clouds hang low, but no real relief yet.
